• Demoted after another poor start
Atlanta optioned Waldrep to Triple-A Gwinnett following Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Rays, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: After he yielded seven earned runs and walked four batters in just 3.2 innings in his MLB debut last Sunday in Washington, Waldrep was given another chance to prove he belonged in Atlanta's rotation. Unfortunately for the 22-year-old righty, he was sent back to the minors after displaying shaky command and control for a second straight outing. He was once again pulled midway through the fourth inning Sunday, needing 71 pitches (42 strikes) to record 10 outs while allowing six earned runs on five hits -- including two home runs -- and four walks. The long-term outlook remains bright for Waldrep, but he'll need further seasoning in the upper levels of the minors before he gets another look in the Atlanta rotation. • Taking seat Sunday
Loftin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: He'll give way to Garrett Hampson at second base for the series finale. Loftin had manned the keystone in seven of the Royals' previous eight games and should remain Kansas City's primary option at the position until Michael Massey (back) returns from the injured list. • Resting against lefty
Benintendi is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Benintendi will cede left field to Corey Julks while the Diamondbacks bring southpaw Jordan Montgomery to the hill for the series finale. Since returning from the injured list Wednesday, Benintendi has made two starts and has gone 3-for-6 with a double, two walks and a run. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago
  • Fading into reserve role
Colas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Colas is on the bench for the third game in a row and looks like he'll serve as little more than a fourth or fifth outfielder for the White Sox following the recent returns of Tommy Pham and Andrew Benintendi from the injured list. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago
  • Idle against lefty
Lopez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Lopez will take a seat while southpaw Jordan Montgomery starts for the Diamondbacks. Danny Mendick will fill in for Lopez at the keystone. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

  • Heading to bench Sunday
Sheets is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: With southpaw Jordan Montgomery on the hill for the Diamondbacks, the lefty-hitting Sheets will retreat to the bench. Korey Lee will get a day off of catching duties and will serve as Chicago's designated hitter in Sheets' stead. Though he remains the White Sox's preferred DH against right-handed pitching for now, Sheets could lose out on regular playing time during the upcoming week, when Eloy Jimenez (hamstring) will likely come off the injured list. • Miles Mikolas keeps Cubs in check, earns win
Miles Mikolas allowed one earned run across 6 ⅔ on Sunday in a 2-1 win over the Cubs. He struck out five and didn’t walk a batter.

Advice: Mikolas cruised against the scuffling Cubs on Sunday. The only run on his ledger was an inherited runner that came around after he was yanked and had a fantastic start overall. His command was fantastic as he mixed his four-seamer and sinker evenly keeping the ball off the Cubs’ hitters’ barrels. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Pedro Pagés homers for Cardinals
Pedro Pagés went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and walk in the Cardinals win over the Cubs on Sunday.

Advice: Pagés is your run-of-the-mill backup catcher who’s getting an opportunity to mix in for St. Louis with the injury to Willson Contreras. He doesn’t play enough to be fantasy relevant despite some solid numbers in the upper minors. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

  • Getting third straight start
Knizner will start at catcher and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Knizner will be making his third consecutive start, but his time as the Rangers' No. 1 catcher should be short-lived. Jonah Heim (personal) was placed on the paternity list Saturday and will rejoin the team no later than Tuesday. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago
