• Four homers in six games
Reynolds went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two runs scored Tuesday against the Reds.

Advice: Reynolds extended his hitting streak to 22 games, but his power has been particularly notable of late. Across his last six starts, he has gone deep four times to bring his total on the season to 13. Across the entirety of his hitting streak, Reynolds has hit .360 with 16 RBI and 15 runs. • Returns, extends hitless streak
Benson started in left field and went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Benson, who was back on the field after dealing with an elbow ailment, continued to slump this month. He's gone 25 at-bats without a hit, and his batting average dropped to .188 following the loss. Rotowire.com Today, 5:17 am

  • Bryan Reynolds homers in win
Bryan Reynolds went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 9-5 win over the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Reynolds homered off Hunter Greene in the first inning in an at-bat that started with Greene puking on the mound. Reynolds later crushed a 426-foot shot at 106.3 mph for his 13th home run of the season to go along with 46 RBI and a .280/.347/.475 slash line. It’s been another solid season for the underrated outfielder. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:32 pm

  • Lars Nootbaar (oblique) nearing rehab assignment
Lars Nootbaar (oblique) progressed to taking on-field batting practice on Tuesday.

Advice: It was Nootbaar’s first time hitting on the field since landing on the injured list back in late May with a moderate oblique strain. The 26-year-old outfielder, who has been snake-bitten by injuries this season, told reporters afterwards that he’s close to heading out on a rehab assignment. Barring something unexpected, he should be back at some point in early July. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:01 pm

  • Back in action Tuesday
Benson (elbow) is starting in left field and batting eighth Tuesday against the Pirates.

Advice: The 26-year-old sat out Monday after being hit by a pitch in the left elbow Sunday, but X-rays came back negative and he's back in the lineup Tuesday. Benson has slumped hard in June with a .442 OPS, and he's 0-for-21 over his past nine contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:14 pm

  • Bryan Reynolds pushes hit streak to 21 straight
Bryan Reynolds extended his hitting streak to 21 consecutive games on Monday in the Pirates’ loss to the Reds.

Advice: Reynolds went 2-for-4 with an RBI and also drew a walk, reaching base safely in three of his five plate appearances in a one-sided affair. The 29-year-old outfielder is batting .315 (39-for-124) with seven homers and one steal over his last 30 games. Rotoworld Monday, 7:18 pm

  • Taking batting practice
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Nootbaar (oblique) took batting practice Monday and will do so again Tuesday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: If Nootbaar responds well to the consecutive days of BP, the Cardinals could clear the outfielder to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment later in the week. Though Nootbaar wouldn't seem to be a likely candidate to return from the 10-day injured list for any of the Cardinals' seven games this week, he shouldn't require a lengthy rehab assignment. Alec Burleson has been serving as the Cardinals' primary right fielder in Nootbaar's stead, but Burleson will likely settle back in at designated hitter once Nootbaar is activated. • Excluded from lineup vs. lefty
Benson (elbow) is out of the lineup Monday against the Pirates.

Advice: Benson will take a seat for the series opener versus the Pirates after he exited late in the Reds' 7-4 loss to the Red Sox on Sunday, when he was struck in the left elbow by a pitch. He's day-to-day after X-rays returned negative, but even if he was 100 percent, the lefty-hitting Benson likely would have been on the bench anyway with the Pirates sending southpaw Bailey Falter to the mound. Benson has recorded just four hits in 42 at-bats versus lefties this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:34 pm

  • Not starting Monday
Fraley is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Fraley will hit the bench for the second game in a row, with his absence Monday most likely being the result of the Pirates bringing southpaw Bailey Falter to the hill. Fraley owns a modest .655 OPS overall in June, but that should be enough for him to retain a regular spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching while the Reds continue to get hit hard by the injury bug. Starting outfielder TJ Friedl (hamstring) joined Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) and Matt McLain (shoulder) on the injured list Monday, while Will Benson (elbow) is day-to-day.
