• Out at least one month
Manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Carter (back) will be out for at least a month, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Carter was placed on the 10-day IL on May 28 with lower-back tightness. Bochy noted that the injury is worse than the Rangers initially thought and has since been reclassified as a stress reaction. Carter looks set to rest for at least a couple more weeks before he resumes baseball activities, and he'll likely need at least a handful of rehab games before being cleared to return from the 10-day injured list. Wyatt Langford has taken over as the Rangers' primary left fielder during Carter's absence, while Ezequiel Duran and Robbie Grossman could end up splitting most of the reps at designated hitter. • Evan Carter to miss one month with back injury
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Tuesday that Evan Carter will miss at least one month with a stress reaction in his back.

Advice: Not great. Bochy added that Carter isn’t dealing with a stress fracture, which would’ve required a much lengthier absence, but he’s facing a lengthier absence than originally anticipated when he hit the injured list last week with a back sprain. The 21-year-old top prospect is likely going to be on the shelf until sometime after next month’s All-Star break, even in a best-case scenario. Fantasy managers in re-draft formats can probably move on, especially in shallow mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 1:56 pm

  • Absent from Tuesday's lineup
Carroll is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: One day after being moved down to the No. 8 spot in the Diamondbacks' batting order, Carroll is now out of the lineup altogether. Both games have come versus left-handers. Carroll is hitting a woeful .192/.280/.281 during his massively disappointing 2024 campaign. Jake McCarthy is in center field Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:51 pm

  • Corbin Carroll not in lineup Tuesday vs. southpaw
Corbin Carroll is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Giants.

Advice: Carroll was dropped to the eighth spot in Arizona’s lineup earlier this week for the first time this season and will take a seat on Tuesday evening for the first time since May 15 with lefty Kyle Harrison toeing the rubber for San Francisco in this one. The 23-year-old has struggled to a calamitous .561 OPS with two homers and nine steals through 58 games. Rotoworld Today, 1:50 pm

  • Masataka Yoshida starting rehab assignment this weekend
Red Sox manager Alex Cora confirmed Tuesday that Masataka Yoshida (thumb) is expected to start a minor league rehab assignment this weekend.

Advice: Yoshida has been on the shelf since the start of May due to a left thumb strain, but managed to avoid surgery. The 30-year-old is going to need some time to get back up to speed in the minors before returning to Boston’s lineup mix at designated hitter. Rotoworld Today, 1:36 pm

  • Kyle Tucker (shin) absent from Tuesday’s lineup
Kyle Tucker (shin) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cardinals.

Advice: The encouraging development here for fantasy managers is that X-rays came back negative for any fractures and Tucker hasn’t been placed on the injured list yet following an early exit from Monday’s series opener after fouling a ball off his right shin. It’ll be Mauricio Dubón taking over in right field on Tuesday evening in his absence. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. Rotoworld Today, 1:29 pm

  • On bench vs. southpaw
Lowe is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Lowe was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday after missing time with an oblique issue, but he's not in the lineup for his first game back since lefty Jesus Luzardo is starting for Miami. Randy Arozarena, Jose Siri and Jonny DeLuca will start across the outfield while Harold Ramirez serves as the designated hitter. Rotowire.com Today, 1:27 pm

  • On bench Tuesday
Frelick is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Philadelphia.

Advice: Frelick will avoid lefty Cristopher Sanchez on Tuesday, giving way to Jackson Chourio in right field. Frelick is slashing .253/.335/.333 with a pair of homers and seven stolen bases on the year. Rotowire.com Today, 1:22 pm

  • Idle Tuesday
Bryant (back) isn't part of the starting nine Tuesday against the Reds.

Advice: Bryant missed Monday's series opener with back soreness and will once again be held out of the lineup due to the issue. Charlie Blackmon will DH and lead off while Hunter Goodman fills out right field. Rotowire.com Today, 12:58 pm
