Heaney (4-11) took the loss against the Cardinals on Wednesday, allowing six runs on six hits and one walk while striking out two batters over 4.1 innings.

Advice: Heaney yielded a tolerable seven baserunners, but six of them came around to score. The southpaw surrendered three runs on three hits and a walk in the second inning, then gave up a hit to three of the four batters he faced in the fifth, with each of those baserunners eventually coming around to score. The six total runs tied a season-worst mark for Heaney, who had been pitching pretty well coming into Wednesday, posting a 2.78 ERA over his previous six starts. The veteran hurler will look to bounce back in his next start, which is tentatively slated to be at home against Houston. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago
    • Secures win No. 10
Lopez (10-7) picked up the win Wednesday in an 8-3 victory over the Mets, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: The right-hander delivered his 11th quality start of the season on 103 pitches (66 strikes), and his only real mistake on the afternoon got driven down the right-field line by Mark Vientos in the second inning for a two-run homer. Lopez has allowed two runs or less in six of his last seven starts, posting a 2.86 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 55:10 K:BB through 44 innings over that stretch. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road early next week against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Today, 5:06 pm
    • Jack Flaherty to make Dodgers’ debut on Saturday
Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts told reporters Wednesday that Jack Flaherty will make his first start with the team on Saturday.

Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander was acquired from the Tigers in the final minutes before Tuesday’s trade deadline. He hasn’t pitched since July 24, so he’ll have been idle for almost a week and a half before taking the hill against the Athletics in Oakland on Saturday. Flaherty’s chances of earning victories should be much improved with the Dodgers’ offense backing him. Rotoworld Today, 3:32 pm
    • Up to 13 wins
Rodriguez (13-4) earned the win Wednesday over the Blue Jays, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: After a strong start to his day, Rodriguez seemed to fade a bit late, allowing a run in each of his final four frames. However, he'd ultimately hang on for his fifth win in his last eight outings. The 24-year-old right-hander has been a bit shaky recently, allowing 13 earned runs in his last 22 innings. Overall, Rodriguez sports a 3.86 ERA across 20 starts (116.2 innings) this year with a 1.24 WHIP and 130:36 K:BB. He's currently in line for a rematch with Toronto on the road in his next outing. • Salvador Perez tallies three hits Wednesday in win
Salvador Perez went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday in the Royals’ blowout win over the White Sox.

Advice: Perez has shown zero signs of slowing down as he enters his mid-30’s as he continues to serve as one of Kansas City’s offensive catalysts. The 34-year-old veteran backstop reached base safely in four of his five plate appearances on Wednesday afternoon and put the Royals ahead for good in the middle innings with a pair of run-producing hits. He holds a robust .803 OPS with 19 homers and 73 RBI across 106 games this season. Rotoworld Today, 2:10 pm
    • Andrew Heaney gives up six runs in loss
Andrew Heaney surrendered six runs over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Advice: After a scoreless first inning, Heaney gave up three runs to St. Louis in the second on three hits, a sacrifice bunt, and a walk. Two singles and a double brought two more runs in to score in the fifth before Heaney was replaced on the mound with one out and a runner on. The inherited runner would eventually come in to score. The 33-year-old left-hander ends his day with a 4.12 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and a 107/31 K/BB ratio across 109 1/3 innings. He currently lines up for a home start against the Astros on Tuesday. • Playing time trending up
McCormick will start in right field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: McCormick seems to have re-emerged as the Astros' preferred option in right field in the absence of Kyle Tucker (shin); he'll draw his fifth start at the position in seven games. Trey Cabbage and Joey Loperfido have picked up the other two starts, and the latter has since been traded to the Blue Jays and replaced on the roster by another outfielder in Pedro Leon. While the Astros could eventually look to Leon, Cabbage or Mauricio Dubon to pick up more reps in the corner outfield, McCormick has gone 5-for-14 with a solo home run over his last four starts to rebuild a little job security for the time being. • Pablo López strikes out seven in win over Mets
Pablo López allowed two runs with seven strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Mets on Wednesday.

Advice: López worked around a walk in the first inning, then gave up a two-run homer to Mark Vientos in the second. He then settled in for four more scoreless innings, working around one hit and two walks over the final four frames while ending his day with seven strikeouts. The home run problem has let to a 4.65 ERA on the season to go with a 1.14 WHIP and a 142/28 K/BB ratio across 124 innings. The 28-year-old right-hander will take on the Cubs in Chicago on Tuesday. • Nick Castellanos posts three RBI in loss to Yankees
Nick Castellanos went 2-for-4 with three RBI on Wednesday in the Phillies’ loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Castellanos trimmed Philadelphia’s early deficit in half with a run-scoring single off Yankees starter Nestor Cortes before tacking on a run-scoring ground out and another run-scoring single in the late stages of the contest. The 32-year-old veteran has settled in a solid yet unspectacular fantasy contributor over the last few years and that trend has continued so far this season with 15 homers, 57 RBI and three steals through 108 contests.
