• Lifts homer Monday
Renfroe went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 4-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Renfroe's blast was his first in three games since he returned from a minimal stay on the injured list with a bruised toe. The outfielder has gone 8-for-25 (.320) in June, adding three homers and seven RBI across nine contests. While he's slashing just .198/.279/.373 on the year, his bat has started to come around, offering him a bit of security in a starting role in right field. Renfroe has added seven homers 27 RBI, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles and one stolen base over 197 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 9:57 am

  • Ends slump Monday
Perez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Perez had gone 0-for-14 over his previous four games, and he'd gone seven contests without an extra-base hit. Both droughts ended when the catcher went back-to-back with Vinnie Pasquantino in the fourth inning, with Perez's homer serving as the decisive run. A poor June -- 11-for-57 (.157) over 20 games -- has taken the shine off of what was a strong start to the year for Perez. He's now slashing .280/.352/.462 with 12 homers, 46 RBI, 29 runs scored and 15 doubles through 77 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 9:55 am

  • Renfroe hits seventh home run in win Monday
Hunter Renfroe went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Signs of life? Renfroe’s home run was his seventh of the year. He’s still only hitting .198 on the year with a .652 OPS. With the Royals optioning Nelson Velasquez to the minors, Renfroe has to understand it’s getting to be that time where he might not keep his job if his numbers don’t improve. • Perez blasts 11th home run in win Monday
Salvador Perez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Marlins.

Advice: Perez’ home run was his 11th of the season and second in the month of June. Perez has cooled off this month. He’s 11-for-70 (.157) in June with two home runs and five RBI. Perez has struck out 20 times with only eight walks in June. He was hitting .321 at the end of May, but now sits at .280 with a .814 OPS on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:49 pm

  • Available to pinch hit Monday
Drury (illness) went through a workout before Monday's game against the Athletics and will be available off the bench, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Drury has been held out of the lineup since Saturday due to an upper respiratory virus, but he's close to returning to the starting lineup. Michael Stefanic draws the start at second base Monday with Drury available off the bench. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:33 pm

  • Report: Garrett Cooper signing with Orioles
Sources told SportsGrid’s Craig Mish that Garrett Cooper is signing a minor league deal with the Orioles.

Advice: The Orioles aren’t lacking for first base/DH/corner outfield options, so Cooper doesn’t seem like a great fit here, though it would give him a chance at a World Series ring. The Yankees were also supposed to be interested, but that was before they acquired J.D. Davis. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:27 pm

  • Tyler Black takes seat against right-hander
Tyler Black is on the bench against a righty Monday for the first time since being recalled last week.

Advice: Black sat against a lefty in his first day back in the majors, but he had started versus four straight righties since. Tonight, though, the Brewers wanted to give Christian Yelich a day off his feet and put him in the DH spot. Black is 3-for-11 with three walks since being recalled. The Brewers aren’t currently interested in putting Black anywhere other than first base or DH, so when Yelich or someone else besides Rhys Hoskins DHs, there’s no room for Black. • Signs minors deal with Orioles
The Orioles signed Cooper to a minor-league contract Monday, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

Advice: Cooper was cut loose by the Red Sox earlier this month after slashing just .206/.267/.299 between his time there and with the Cubs. The 33-year-old sports a solid .265/.333/.427 line for his career, but finding playing time on the big-league roster with the Orioles could be a tall task. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:40 pm

  • Absent from lineup
Black is not in the lineup for Monday's tilt versus the Rangers.

Advice: Black was in the lineup for each of the last four games against right-handers following his recall from Triple-A Nashville, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Rangers send righty Michael Lorenzen to the bump. Rhys Hoskins is at first base and Christian Yelich will occupy the designated hitter spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:19 pm
