• Effective in no-decision
Gomber did not factor into the decision Friday against the Rangers, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Gomber turned in his second straight quality start Friday night, managing to lower his season ERA to 3.43 in the process. The Rockies lefty has been surprisingly productive at Coors Field this season, pitching to the tune of a 3.14 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 20:10 K:BB over 28.2 innings. Gomber is scheduled to face the Padres on the road in his next start. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

  • Quality in Coors return
Gray did not factor into the decision Friday against the Rockies, allowing one run on eight hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Gray collected a quality start in his first return to Coors Field since departing Colorado in free agency after the 2021 season. The Texas right-hander racked up his third consecutive quality start, firing a 1.71 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 17:1 K:BB in 21 innings over that span. Gray is slated to make his next start at home against Cleveland. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

  • Griffin Canning holds Royals scoreless over 5 2/3
Griffin Canning held the Royals to just three hits over 5 2/3 innings of scoreless work against the Angels on Friday, but didn’t receive a decision.

Advice: Canning, 27, struck out three against two walks. The right-hander wasn’t dominant, but he was able to have his best start of the season while keeping a good Kansas City lineup off the board. Even with this solid outing and a decent one Sunday against Cleveland, Canning still has an unhealthy ERA of 5.75. He shouldn’t be trusted for Wednesday’s scheduled tilt against the Cardinals. • Alec Marsh holds Angels to one run with seven Ks
Alec Marsh struck out seven while allowing just one run over 5 1/3 innings against the Angels on Friday while not factoring in the decision.

Advice: Marsh’s only run allowed came on a Jo Adell solo blast in the fifth. Unfortunately, that was the only run scored while either he or Griffin Canning was in the game, so no win for the 25-year-old in his return from the injured list. This was far from the toughest lineup that Marsh will face, but he did look solid while pitching into the sixth inning and throwing 85 pitches. He’ll get back on the mound in Seattle against the Mariners on Wednesday. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago

  • Sharp in season debut
Bradley (0-1) took the loss Friday against the Yankees, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Bradley was excellent in his first start since suffering a pectoral strain in spring training, holding the Yankees to a lone run on an Anthony Rizzo two-out RBI single in the fourth. However, the right-hander was stuck with the loss as the Rays failed to get anything going offensively in the 2-0 defeat. Bradley made 21 starts for Tampa Bay last year, going 5-8 with a 5.59 ERA. He's currently slated to face the Red Sox on the road in his next outing. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

  • Stumbles in loss
Carrasco (2-3) yielded five runs (three earned) on six hits over seven innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against the White Sox.

Advice: Carrasco held the White Sox off the board until they scored three runs in the fifth inning, though two of those were unearned. He then served up back-to-back solo homers to Korey Lee and Paul DeJong in the seventh. Carrasco didn't allow a home run through his first four starts but has now been taken deep seven times in his last four outings. He's sporting a 5.36 ERA with a 31:17 K:BB through 40.1 innings this season. Carrasco's next start is lined up to be in Texas next week. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago

  • Lasts 4.1 innings vs. Pittsburgh
Assad didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Pirates, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: After the Pirates scored twice in the first inning, Assad delivered 3.1 scoreless frames before he was ultimately pulled in the fifth inning. The 26-year-old Assad hasn't allowed more than one earned run in five straight starts -- he's 3-0 with a 1.70 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 35:14 K:BB across 42.1 innings this season. The Mexican-born right-hander is currently slated for a road matchup with Atlanta in his next outing. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

  • Tyler Glasnow whiffs 10 again in no-decision
Tyler Glasnow struck out 10 while allowing just one run in seven innings against the Padres on Friday, but he didn’t factor into the decision.

Advice: Glasnow and King were both outstanding Friday, and both come out of the effort with hard-luck no-decisions. Glasnow allowed just one hit, but that one hit was a solo homer from Luis Campusano in the third inning. This makes back-to-back starts for Glasnow where he’s gotten double-digit strikeouts, and he improved his K/BB to 73/15 with the aforementioned punchouts and two free passes. Expect Glasnow to pitch well again in his next outing, scheduled Wednesday against the Giants in San Francisco. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

  • Michael King allows two hits, whiffs 11 vs. LAD
Michael King struck out 11 over seven scoreless innings against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Sensational. King was excellent against the Diamondbacks on Saturday, but this was a different level for the 28-year-old. He did walk three, but he threw 74-of-106 pitches for strikes and was able to get the punchout if there was even a sniff of trouble. The right-hander now has a 3.67 ERA and 54/24 K/BB, and he’s shown why the Padres were adamant about acquiring his services in the Juan Soto trade. Sadly, King doesn’t get a win because his bullpen blew a 1-0 lead after he left. He should keep the good run going against the Rockies at home next week. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago
