    • Beginning rehab stint Tuesday
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Cole (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Somerset, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 33-year-old has thrown multiple sessions of live batting practice over the past couple weeks and has now been cleared to pitch in minor-league games. Cole will require multiple outings in the minors before being ready to join the Yankees, but he's on track to make his season debut during the second half of June. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

    • Gerrit Cole (elbow) starting Tuesday in Double-A
Gerrit Cole (elbow) will make a rehab start for Double-A Somerset on Tuesday.

Advice: Cole threw a 43-pitch simulated game Thursday, and now he’ll get a chance to face minor-league hitters as the next stop in his progression. The 33-year-old has missed all of 2024 thus far with his elbow injury, but assuming there are no setbacks, it’s likely the 2023 Cy Young winner will be back in action in the middle of June. • Garners fifth straight start
Arias will start at third base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Arias will stick in the lineup for a fifth consecutive game, this time filling in at third base while Jose Ramirez gets a day out of the field and serves as Cleveland's designated hitter. In addition to the hot corner, Arias picked up starts at second base, shortstop and in right field over the previous four games. The Guardians faced left-handed starters in three of those contests, and though Arias should be a fixture in the lineup versus lefties, he'll likely serve as more of a part-time player when Cleveland opposes righties. • Throwing at 80 mph
Ohtani has reached 80 mph during his throwing program, per MLB.com.

Advice: Ohtani has been throwing since late March, though it's not clear if he's pitched from beyond 60 feet yet. The two-way star won't see any game action as a pitcher this season, so it's logical that the Dodgers will be very cautious in managing his throwing progression. Though he's working only as a batter this season, Ohtani is once again in the MVP discussion with a .326/.395/.604 slash line, 14 home runs, 38 RBI, 41 runs and 14 stolen bases through 57 games. • Pops second homer
Urshela went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: The third baseman made the final score a little more respectable by taking Brad Keller deep in the ninth inning. Urshela has only two homers on the season, but both have come during the current series in Boston, and he seems to have shaken off the rust following an IL stint due to a hamstring strain that cost him 21 games -- over the last seven contests, he's batting .348 (8-for-23). • Crushed by O's
Bradley (1-3) took the loss Saturday, surrendering nine runs on nine hits -- including four home runs -- and three walks over 3.1 innings as the Rays were downed 9-5 by the Orioles. He struck out three.

Advice: Baltimore put runs on the board in every inning the right-hander pitched, with Ryan Mountcastle taking him deep twice to lead the charge for the home squad. Bradley had served up only three homers in 23 innings this season since coming off the IL, but keeping the ball in the park was an issue for him in 2023 as well, and he's now been tagged for 30 homers in 131 career big-league innings. Bradley will look to rebound in his next start, which lines up to be a rematch with the O's back in Tampa Bay next weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 4:30 am
    • Records steal in win
Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Ohtani had gone seven games without a steal, and he hit just .167 (5-for-30) over that span. That's a rare cold spell for one of baseball's best players, who continues to do it all out of the No. 2 hole for the Dodgers. He's at a .326/.395/.604 slash line with 14 home runs, 14 steals, 38 RBI and 41 runs scored over 57 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:18 pm

    • Taj Bradley lit up for nine runs in loss to Orioles
Taj Bradley allowed nine runs across 3 1/3 innings in a loss to the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Bradley had some trouble keeping the ball in the yard in Baltimore. Ryan Mountcastle got the scoring started with a two-run blast in the first inning. Anthony Santander followed with a solo homer. Jordan Westburg then led off the second with the third home run for the Orioles. Baltimore would bring six more runs in, including another two-run blast by Ryan Mountcastle in the fourth, before Bradley was relieved. The 23-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 5.81 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and a 32/9 K/BB ratio across 26 1/3 innings. He currently lines up for a matchup against the same Orioles in Tampa Bay next Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:03 pm
    • Matt Vierling doubles twice against Red Sox
Matt Vierling went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored against the Red Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Vierling led the game off with a double off Cooper Criswell and scored on a single by Riley Greene. Vierling added another double to start the sixth, but was left stranded on the bases. The 27-year-old outfielder is slashing a solid .292/.324/.509 with seven homers and 28 RBI across 182 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:40 pm
