    • Aledmys Díaz goes 0-for-3 against Angels
Aledmys Díaz went 0-for-3 with a strikeout as Oakland’s No. 9 hitter Monday against the Angels.

Advice: The A’s got ridiculously lucky that someone took Jace Peterson off their hands last summer, so they’ll keep giving Díaz the occasional start in the hopes that lightning will strike twice. The 33-year-old Díaz is 3-for-27 since returning from a calf injury on May 28. He hit .229/.280/.337 last year in the first season of a two-year, $14.5 million contract. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago

    • Doubles twice, scores three runs
India went 3-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI, three runs scored and a walk in Monday's win over Pittsburgh.

Advice: India picked up a hit and scored a run in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. It was his third straight multi-hit game, boosting his season OPS from .696 to .732 in the process. He's gone 11-for-23 (.478) with five extra-base hits over his last six games. India is now slashing .258/.363/.369 with 16 extra-base this and 33 runs scored through 71 games. Rotowire.com Today, 8:45 pm

    • Available to pinch hit Monday
Drury (illness) went through a workout before Monday's game against the Athletics and will be available off the bench, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Drury has been held out of the lineup since Saturday due to an upper respiratory virus, but he's close to returning to the starting lineup. Michael Stefanic draws the start at second base Monday with Drury available off the bench. Rotowire.com Today, 5:33 pm

    • Tyler Black takes seat against right-hander
Tyler Black is on the bench against a righty Monday for the first time since being recalled last week.

Advice: Black sat against a lefty in his first day back in the majors, but he had started versus four straight righties since. Tonight, though, the Brewers wanted to give Christian Yelich a day off his feet and put him in the DH spot. Black is 3-for-11 with three walks since being recalled. The Brewers aren’t currently interested in putting Black anywhere other than first base or DH, so when Yelich or someone else besides Rhys Hoskins DHs, there’s no room for Black. • Could be on outs for everyday role
Loftin is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Loftin had started in each of the Royals' last six games and served as the club's leadoff hitter in two of those contests, but playing time may be harder to come by for him after Kansas City brought back Michael Massey (back) from the injured list Monday. Massey is serving as the Royals' designated hitter Monday, but he should soon resume regular duties at second base, where Loftin had been seeing most of his playing time over the past month. • Taking seat against lefty
Lopez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Lopez and fellow left-handed hitters Gavin Sheets and Andrew Benintendi will hit the bench as the White Sox go with an all-right-handed-hitting lineup versus Dodgers southpaw James Paxton. Danny Mendick will replace Lopez at second base and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 3:29 pm

    • Sitting against southpaw
Lux is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Lux will retreat to the bench for the third time in four games while the Dodgers face off against another lefty (Garrett Crochet). Chris Taylor will step in for Lux at second base. Rotowire.com Today, 3:22 pm

    • Idle against lefty
Biggio is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Biggio will once again hit the bench while the Dodgers face off against a lefty starter (Garrett Crochet) for the third time in four games. Platoon mate Enrique Hernandez gets the nod at third base in Biggio's stead. Rotowire.com Today, 3:20 pm

    • Not ready for rehab assignment
Grissom has been cleared for a running program and is making progress in his recovery from a right hamstring strain, but the Red Sox haven't yet cleared him to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Though Grissom seems to be trending in a positive direction as he works his way back from the hamstring strain that sent him to the injured list June 2, he looks to be at least a week away from seeing game action in the minors. Once he's ready to return from the IL, Grissom may not have a regular role waiting for him with the big club, as Enmanuel Valdez has found success as a strong-side platoon player at second base following his call-up from Triple-A Worcester on May 29. Rather than having Grissom displace Valdez as the team's starter or have him occupy the short side of a platoon, the Red Sox may prefer to option Grissom to Worcester upon activating him so that he can receive regular reps.
