    • Colt Keith falls triple short of the cycle
Colt Keith went 4-for-5 with a home run, double, three RBI and three runs scored in a, 11-2 win over the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: The Tigers, led by Keith, teed off against the White Sox. Eight of their nine starters had a hit and they had nine runs by the end of the second inning. Keith had a chance to hit the first cycle by a Tiger since Carlos Guillén in 2006 and the team has shown increased confidence in the youngster by moving him up to second in their order this week. • Will Benson leaves game after HBP on Sunday
Will Benson was removed from Sunday’s game against the Red Sox after he was hit on the left elbow by a pitch.

Advice: Benson was initially able to talk his way into staying in the game to run the bases for himself, but he was replaced when the Reds took the field defensively in the ninth inning. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to see if there’s any structural damage. If fantasy managers in deeper leagues are relying on Benson for next week, it’d be wise to have a contingency option in play to be on the safe side. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm

    • Acquired by Yankees
The Yankees acquired Davis and cash considerations from the Athletics on Sunday in exchange for infielder Jordan Groshans.

Advice: After seeing his playing time steadily decrease, Davis was DFA'd by the Athletics on Monday. The Yankees will make room on the 40-man roster for Davis, marking the third organization he's been with since the start of spring training after the Athletics previously signed him following his release from the Giants in March. He appeared in 39 games for the Athletics before losing his roster spot, slashing .236/.304/.366 with four home runs and five RBI over 135 plate appearances. To make room for Davis on the 40-man roster, the Yankees transferred right-hander Nick Burdi (hip) to the 60-day injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:06 am

    • Yankees acquire J.D. Davis from A’s in trade
Yankees acquired INF J.D. Davis from the Athletics for INF Jordan Groshans and cash considerations.

Advice: Davis provides New York with some additional experienced infield depth moving forward after being designated for assignment earlier this week by Oakland. The 31-year-old corner infielder holds a pedestrian .670 OPS with four homers and five RBI in 135 plate appearances in 39 games this season. He figures to get some time at third base or designated hitter against left-handed pitching while Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) is on the shelf. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:40 am

    • Stepping in as top backstop
Pages will start at catcher and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Pages had already worked his way into a regular role behind the plate versus left-handed pitching while Ivan Herrera served as St. Louis' designated hitter in those matchups, but Pages will stick in the lineup against a right-hander (Logan Webb) on Sunday for the fourth straight contest. With Herrera going on the injured list Saturday with lower-back tightness, Pages will serve as the Cardinals' No. 1 backstop, but his reign atop the depth chart could be short-lived. Willson Contreras (forearm) made his fifth rehab appearance Saturday with Triple-A Memphis and could be ready to return from the 10-day IL and reclaim the No. 1 role for St. Louis as soon as Monday versus Atlanta. • Getting Saturday off
Bader isn't in the Mets' lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Bader will sit down versus Jameson Taillon and the Cubs after going 0-for-9 and striking out four times in his last three games. While he rests, DJ Stewart, Brandon Nimmo and Starling Marte will start across New York's outfield. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:27 am
    • Sitting again Saturday
McKinstry isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: McKinstry has gone 0-for-18 with eight strikeouts in his last six contests, and he'll now sit down for the second game in a row Saturday. Ryan Kreidler will pick up another start at shortstop, batting ninth. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:25 am

    • Absent from lineup
Horwitz is not in the lineup for Friday's contest in Cleveland.

Advice: After starting five straight games following his promotion, Horwitz has now been on the bench three times in the last seven contests, including twice against right-handers. Orelvis Martinez is getting the call at second base Friday. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:43 pm
    • Spencer Horwitz not in Blue Jays lineup on Friday
Spencer Horwitz is not in the Blue Jays’ starting lineup for Friday night’s contest against the Guardians in Cleveland.

Advice: The versatile 26-year-old has found his way into the lineup against most opposing right-handed pitchers, but that’s not the case against Carlos Carrasco on Friday night. Horwitz has hit well in his limited time with the Jays — slashing .353/.450/.412 with three RBI and a 5/6 K/BB ratio over his first 40 plate appearances. Orelvis Martinez will start in his place at second base and bat eighth for the Jays. Rotoworld Friday, 1:27 pm
