    • Dominic Canzone goes 0-for-4 against A’s
Dominic Canzone went 0-for-4 and struck out twice against the A’s on Tuesday.

Advice: Canzone has to be on thin ice at this point; he’s 2-for-29 with one RBI since May 21. The Mariners keep playing him in part because his defense is better than Mitch Haniger’s, but that’s an awfully low bar, and if he’s not hitting, they’d almost surely be better off with one of their other several mediocre outfield options. • Gets look as leadoff hitter
Julks went 1-for-5 with a double Tuesday against the Cubs.

Advice: Even with the return of Luis Robert, the White Sox's outfield remains shorthanded without Andrew Benintendi (Achilles) and Tommy Pham (ankle). As a result, Julks has started 10 consecutive games, during which he's gone 11-for-39 with three doubles, two RBI and three runs scored. Most notable on Tuesday was that Julks took over as the team's leadoff hitter in the absence of Pham. Rotowire.com Today, 10:18 pm

    • Falters versus Astros
Pallante (1-2) allowed six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out one over three innings to take the loss versus the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: Pallante dazzled in his first start of the season with six scoreless innings versus the Reds, but the Astros were able to hit him harder. They put up a pair of runs on groundouts in the first inning before rallying for four more runs -- including a three-run blast by Yainer Diaz -- in the third. Pallante is now at a 6.16 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 11:11 K:BB over 19 innings across 11 appearances (two starts) this season. The Cardinals continue to struggle to fill the No. 5 spot in their rotation while Steven Matz (back) is out, though Pallante has been their best option so far. If he stays in the rotation, Pallante is projected to make his next start at home versus the Rockies. Rotowire.com Today, 9:59 pm

    • Patrick Sandoval solid for six against Padres
Patrick Sandoval pitched six innings and allowed just one run Tuesday in the Angels’ 4-2 victory over the Padres.

Advice: He fanned seven. Unfortunately, Sandoval didn’t get the win, as the Angels didn’t take a lead until the bottom of the seventh. As unlucky as he’s been in the results department, Sandoval is at least fortunate that the Angels soured on Reid Detmers first. Sandoval doesn’t deserve to be 2-8 with a 5.00 ERA while his xERA, SIERA and FIP are all at least a run lower, but if the Angels believed in those kinds of numbers, Detmers would still be in the majors right now. • Adam Mazur allows just one run in MLB debut
Adam Mazur allowed just one run and two hits over six innings against the Angels in his major league debut Tuesday.

Advice: Less impressive was that Mazur struck out two and walked four, but he allowed only four hard-hit balls and both hits were singles. He’ll get to stick in the Padres rotation for now, but we wouldn’t recommend him in shallow leagues just yet. Rotoworld Today, 9:52 pm

    • Yuki Matsui gives up three runs in loss
Yuki Matsui was charged with three runs without retiring a batter in taking a loss in relief Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: Matsui also allowed three runs and took a loss in his previous appearance Sunday, so his ERA has quickly jumped from 2.88 to 4.97. He made sense for those speculating on saves back in March, but Robert Suarez has easily outpaced him this season. Rotoworld Today, 9:52 pm
    • Pallante allows six earned runs in loss to Astros
Andre Pallante allowed six earned runs over three innings while striking out one in Tuesday’s loss to the Astros.

Advice: Things didn’t go well for Pallante, who needed 75 pitches to get through his three innings of work. After allowing two runs in the first inning, Pallante would allow four runs in the third, with the most notable coming on a three-run homer by Yainer Diaz. It was the worst outing of the season for Pallante, who has now started back-to-back games for the Cards after serving as a reliever for the first two months of the season. If Pallante gets the nod for his next start, it would likely come on Sunday against the Rockies. Rotoworld Today, 8:38 pm

    • Brandon Lowe homers off a lefty in win
Brandon Lowe went 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBI in a win over the Marlins on Tuesday.

Advice: Despite the Marlins starting left-hander Jesus Luzardo, the Rays decided to keep Brandon Lowe in the lineup. The 29-year-old rewarded them with a 377-foot blast that left the bat at 108.7 mph for a three-run home run. He later added a two-run double, also off Luzardo, which was hit 107 mph. Lowe has frequently been on the bench against lefties, so the fact that Tampa Bay even chose to start him against Luzardo is one thing, but the fact that it went as well as it did is another. We wouldn’t overreact to one start, but if Lowe is going to play against lefties, that would give him more fantasy value than we had anticipated. Rotoworld Today, 7:13 pm

    • Jack Suwinski homers in win over Dodgers
Jack Suwinski hit a solo home run in a win over the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Advice: Suwinski was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis earlier in the day and responded with the only run of the game when he blasted a 375-foot home run off Tyler Glasnow in his first at-bat. He also struck out in his other two at-bats, and that’s a perfect encapsulation of Suwinski as a hitter. The 25-year-old had struggled to a .174/.268/.297 slash line before being demoted and was attempting to change his approach by being more aggressive in the zone to combat his high called-strike rate from 2023. There is clear fantasy upside here if Suwinski can make contact more consistently. Rotoworld Today, 6:50 pm
