The long ball was McCormick's first of the season, though he's managed three extra-base hits over his last five contests. The 29-year-old is slashing .209/.273/.291 with 12 RBI, 10 runs scored and three stolen bases over 121 plate appearances, and he's unlikely to make a consistent impact while occupying a short-side platoon role.       Colt Keith went 4-for-6 with a solo home run in a win over the Astros on Saturday.

      Advice: Keith is now 6-for-9 in the first two games of the series. The home run was his third of the season and accounted for his 20th RBI. While those numbers aren’t anything to write home about, Keith has some legitimate power at the minor league level.       Chas McCormick went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

      Advice: McCormick didn’t start this game, but all five Astros’ runs were driven in by players who were on the bench for the first pitch. The home run was McCormick’s first of the season but was a no-doubted, hit 428 feet at 106.5 mph. He’s battled through injuries this year and is hitting just .209 on the season, but Jake Meyers has also started to struggle, so there is a chance that McCormick could push for more playing time if he can start swinging the bat well.
