    • Can't find plate in loss
Medina (0-1) took the loss Saturday, coughing up six runs on five hits and five walks over 4.2 innings as the A's fell 7-0 to the Blue Jays. He struck out one.

Advice: The right-hander had no margin for error with Kevin Gausman tossing a complete-game shutout for Toronto, but Medina had trouble finding the plate all afternoon, walking the bases loaded in the first inning to set up the Jays' first run and finally exiting having thrown only 45 of 84 pitches for strikes. Through his first two starts for Oakland this season, Medina has a 7:7 K:BB in 10.1 innings, but the team's lack of healthy arms should keep him in the rotation for now. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next week in Minnesota. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

    • Starting Sunday
Francis will start Sunday's game against the Athletics, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Francis will make his first start since being activated from the 15-day IL on Tuesday. The 28-year-old surrendered four runs and tossed 57 pitches in long relief Tuesday and has yielded 12 runs over 8.1 innings during his only two starts this season. However, he'll have the luxury of facing an Athletics lineup that is scoring just 3.6 runs per game in 2024. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago
    • Reaches three times, steals base
Turang went 2-for-4 with a walk, stolen base and two runs in Saturday's win vs the Tigers.

Advice: The Brewers leadoff man started off the game with a walk, then moved to second and scored on a single by Christian Yelich. Turang would reach on hits in his next two at-bats and scored again in the third, giving him his seventh game with at least two runs this season. The second-baseman also added his 23rd stolen base of the season which is behind Elly De La Cruz for most in MLB. Turang's batting average sits at .307 for the year and he remains a lock for the top of the Brewers lineup. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

    • Drives offense in big win
Bichette went 2-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Saturday's 7-0 win over the A's.

Advice: The shortstop is heating up again, collecting four doubles among his seven hits over the last six games. Bichette's sluggish start to the season is fading in the rearview mirror -- over his last 24 contests, he's batting .302 (29-for-96) with two homers, eight doubles, eight runs and 14 RBI. • Kyle Tucker (shin) hoping to return on Friday
Kyle Tucker (shin) told reporters on Saturday that he’s feeling much improved and is hopeful he’ll be able to return to the Astros’ lineup when he’s first eligible on Friday.

Advice: The dynamic 27-year-old outfielder is now walking with just one crutch instead of two and he plans to resume baseball activities while the team is in San Francisco this week. It sounds like barring any setbacks, Tucker should be ready to rock at some point next weekend. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Limits Rays to one hit
Bradish (2-0) earned the win over Tampa Bay on Saturday, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out nine batters over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Bradish was given two extra days of rest after struggling against the Rays in his previous start, and the extra time off proved to be a remedy to getting him back on the track. The right-hander allowed an infield single to the first batter he faced in the outing, then retired the final 18 hitters to step up to the plate against him. Bradish is still easing his way back after missing the first month of the campaign due to an elbow injury, which explains why he was pulled after just 88 pitches, but that was enough for him to pick up both his second win and second quality start. If he returns to pitching on a regular five-day schedule, Bradish is next lined up for a tough road matchup against Atlanta. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
    • Bowden Francis to start for Blue Jays on Sunday
Bowden Francis will start for the Blue Jays in Sunday’s series finale against the Athletics in Oakland.

Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander has made six appearances (two starts) for the Jays this season — registering a 9.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and a 19/7 K/BB ratio across 18 innings. Francis threw 57 pitches his last time out against the Orioles on Tuesday, so it’s unclear how deep he’ll be able to work into Sunday’s start. Even with the matchup against the A’s, he’s probably not a recommended streaming option. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago
    • Aiming for Friday return
Tucker (lower leg) is aiming to return to the Astros lineup Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Tucker is hopeful to return after the minimum 10 days on the injured list with a bruised right shin. He's been steadily improving since sustaining the injury and is down to using just one crutch after being seen Friday on two. Mauricio Dubon should handle most of the right field work until Tucker returns, though Joey Loperfido should get into the mix after recently being called up. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago

    • Fires first career shutout
Gausman (5-4) picked up the win Saturday, giving up five hits and a walk in a complete-game shutout during Toronto's 7-0 victory over Oakland. He struck out 10.

Advice: It was the first shutout of Gausman's career, and the veteran right-hander was dominant all afternoon, firing 76 of 109 pitches for strikes while tying his season high in Ks. He's produced four quality starts in his last five trips to the mound, lowering his ERA on the season to 4.00 with a 1.25 WHIP and 69:16 K:BB through 69.2 innings. Gausman will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Guardians. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago
