    Advice: Rafaela matched a season-high with four hits in this one as Boston drubbed Chicago’s pitching staff for 14 runs on 24 hits in a lopsided affair.   • Mookie Betts homers to lead Dodgers past Pirates
    Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer on Thursday, powering the Dodgers to an 11-7 victory over the Pirates.

    Advice: Betts capped off Los Angeles’ six-run explosion in the fifth inning with his 10th round-tripper of the season, taking Pirates reliever Ben Heller deep to center field. It was his second big fly in his last four games and first multi-hit effort since May 28. He also walked twice in this one.     Advice: Gonzales took Dodgers starter Walker Buehler deep in the early stages of the contest for his fourth long ball of the season. The 25-year-old infielder has been an unexpected revelation for Pittsburgh, batting .315 (28-for-89) with four homers and two steals in 24 games since arriving back in the majors last month.     Advice: The home run was Abrams’ 10th of the season. He had slumped and missed time with shoulder soreness last week, but seemed unbothered on Thursday.   • Bobby Witt Jr. steals two bags in win over CLE
    Bobby Witt Jr. reached twice while stealing two bases in a 4-3 win for the Royals over the Guardians on Thursday.

    Advice: Witt Jr. is now up to 19 thefts on the year. The speedy superstar is playing at an MVP level with a .317/.371/.560 slash, and has picked up hits in each game thus far in June. If 2025 drafts were held now — and they are decidedly not — it’d be hard to argue that he wouldn’t be the first pick in the overwhelming majority of leagues. Scary to think he’s still only 23, too.     Perdomo (knee) started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 with an RBI in a rehab game with Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.

    Advice: Perdomo's rehab moved from the rookie-level Arizona Complex League to Reno on Wednesday, and the shortstop played seven innings in the field. Per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, the Diamondbacks aren't targeting a specific number of games or at-bats for Perdomo; instead, his return date depends on how he feels. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo confirmed Perdomo won't be activated from the 10-day injured list during the upcoming four-game series against the Padres that begin Thursday, but a return next week could be in the cards.     Advice: Despite the Pirates putting up a 10-spot, Gonzales' two-RBI double in the second inning was Pittsburgh's lone extra-base hit on the day. His four RBI tied his career high, which was set May 24 against Atlanta. Before that, the 25-year-old hadn't generated more than two RBI in a game in his career.
