• Picks up second save
Adam gave up a run on two hits and struck out one in the ninth inning Friday to record his second save of the season in a 10-8 win over the Mets.

Advice: The right-hander has collected saves in back-to-back appearances, but he's looked a bit shaky both times. Adam served up a solo shot to Brett Baty on Friday before giving up a two-out double to Brandon Nimmo that brought the tying run to the plate. Adam's 1.80 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB through 15 innings on the season remain impressive, but with Pete Fairbanks (forearm) set to begin a rehab assignment next week, he should return to setup duties before long. • Slams door for save
Duran struck out two batters in a perfect inning to earn a save over the Red Sox on Friday.

Advice: Duran needed just 11 pitches to quickly retire the middle third of Boston's lineup in order. He's struck out three batters while grabbing a pair of saves in two appearances since returning from the injured lust. The 26-year-old posted terrific numbers last season -- 2.45 ERA and 12.1 K/9 through 62.1 innings -- and should see plenty of save chances throughout the year. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

  • Locks down sixth save
Alvarado earned the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Giants, allowing one hit while logging a strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Alvarado allowed a leadoff single before setting down the next three Giants, closing out the one-run victory for his sixth save of the season. After giving up five runs in his first outing of the year, Alvarado's allowed just one run in his subsequent 13 innings. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 3.95 with a 1.24 WHIP and 14:7 K:BB on the campaign. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
  • Wins third straight
Paddack (3-1) yielded two hits and a walk over six shutout frames Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the Red Sox.

Advice: After working out of a two-on, no-out jam in the first inning, Paddack locked in and rolled through the Red Sox. He's now 3-1 with a three-game winning streak; during that span, he's posted a 2.00 ERA and an 18:2 K:BB over 18 frames. Paddack forced 12 whiffs, including six with his four-seam that averaged 94.3 mph. The 28-year-old righty has dropped his ERA to 4.78 through six starts. He's currently in line face the Mariners at home next week. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago

  • Josh Hader locks down third save of season
Josh Hader fired a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts to pick up a save Friday against the Mariners.

Advice: Hader did walk a batter to put the tying run at the plate, but the left-hander was able to get a pair of strikeouts to lower his ERA to 5.93 and also pick up his third save. Hader should continue to see those save numbers rise while his ERA plummets over the summer months. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

  • Ronel Blanco allows three over six against Seattle
Ronel Blanco was charged for three runs over six innings Friday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: He gave up five hits while walking three and striking out six. Blanco gave up a pair of homers Friday, one of them being a solo shot by Jorge Polanco and the other a two-run homer by Dylan Moore. The right-hander exited with a 3-1 deficit, but the Astros were able to score four after he left to keep him off the hook. Blanco will take a 2.09 ERA into his next start which is scheduled for Thursday against the Yankees. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

  • José Alvarado notched sixth save for Phillies
José Alvarado threw a scoreless ninth in a one-run game for his sixth save Friday against the Giants.

Advice: Alvarado gave up five runs on Opening Day and remained wild for a spell after that, but he’s walked just one in his last nine appearances and given up one run in 14 appearances. He’s recorded six of the Phillies’ 11 saves for the year, and he could maintain something close to that ratio going forward. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago
  • Jordan Hicks walks four in loss to Phillies
Jordan Hicks gave up four runs — two earned — and walked four in four innings Friday in a loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Improved control has been a big key for Hicks in his successful run in the Giants rotation, but this is the second time in his last three starts that he’s walked four batters, giving him14 walks in 38 innings for the year. The loss tonight was his first, and he still has a nice 1.89 ERA for the season. Still, he doesn’t seem like a great mixed-league option from here. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago

  • Ryan Helsley hurls scoreless ninth for save
Ryan Helsley picked up a save Friday against the White Sox without allowing a run in his inning of work.

Advice: Helsley didn’t give up a hit, didn’t give up a walk, and didn’t pick up a strikeout. The right-hander needed just eight pitches — seven of those strikes — against a Chicago team that looked like it wanted to be anywhere else. Helsley has already saved 11 games, and he lowered his ERA to 1.59 with the scoreless frame. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago
