• Smacks homer in loss
Stephenson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Stephenson has four multi-hit efforts over his last five games, and each of those two-hit games has included one knock for extra bases. His homer Friday was his second of the month and fifth of the season. The catcher is up to a .264/.342/.472 slash line with 14 RBI, 18 runs scored, one stolen base and seven doubles through 120 plate appearances on the year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:09 pm
  • Tyler Stephenson hits solo bomb in loss to Dodgers
Tyler Stephenson hit a solo homer while going 2-for-4 in a loss to the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Stephenson has his fifth homer of the year with his solo shot off James Paxton; one of two the Reds were able to get against Paxton in the loss. So far in May the catcher has registered an .820 OPS, and this makes four straight games for the backstop with extra-base hits. Solid. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:40 pm
  • Beginning assignment Tuesday
Manager Brian Snitker said Murphy (oblique) will likely begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Murphy has been on the injured list since Opening Day, but he has now been cleared to test his strained left oblique in a competitive environment. Considering the 29-year-old backstop has missed nearly two months, he will likely require an extended stay in the minors, but he should reclaim his role as Atlanta's everyday catcher once he returns. • Belts 10th homer Friday
Langeliers went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in a loss to the Royals on Friday.

Advice: It was such a miserable offensive night for the Athletics that Langeliers' 421-foot two-run blast came with Oakland just one out away from a shutout. The backstop was productive throughout the night while reaching safely on three occasions overall, and he's now hitting a stellar .368 (14-for-38) with four home runs and 13 RBI across his last 11 contests. • Nick Fortes goes 3-for-3, homers in win
Nick Fortes went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and three runs scored against the Mets on Friday.

Advice: The home run was just Fortes’ second in what’s been a disastrous start to the season. He’s had some intriguing batted ball metrics in the past, but this was just his second barrel of the season. He’s hard to trust even in two-catcher formats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:46 pm

  • Yasmani Grandal knocks in three against Cubs
Yasmani Grandal went 2-for-5 and knocked in three runs in the rout of the Pirates on Friday.

Advice: Grandal has started four of the last five games over Joey Bart, so it’s not much of a job share behind the plate for the Pirates right now. Grandal has hit .212/.229/.424 but with nine RBI in 10 games since coming off the injured list. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm
  • Miguel Amaya hits second homer in loss to Pirates
Miguel Amaya hit just his second homer of the year in the eighth inning Friday to break up the Pirates’ shutout bid in a Cubs loss.

Advice: Amaya’s homer projected at 374 feet and would have gone out of 10 ballparks, according to Statcast. In spite of Amaya’s struggles offensively — he’s batting .184/.248/.297 — the Cubs have continued to give him most of the starts behind the plate. Yan Gomes has gotten the nod in just one of the team’s last six games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm
  • Langeliers back in the lineup Friday
Shea Langeliers is back in the Athletics lineup, batting fourth against the Royals on Friday.

Advice: Langeliers had a routine day off on Thursday night against the Astros, but he’s back in the lineup on Friday. His average is just .218, but he has nine home runs and 24 RBI in 133 at-bats this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:01 pm
  • Out of starting lineup versus lefty
Soderstrom is not in the starting lineup for Friday's matchup against the Royals.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Soderstrom will start from the bench as the Athletics take on lefty Cole Ragans. The 22-year-old has started in six of Oakland's last eight games, though J.D. Davis will take the field at first base Friday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:38 pm
