    Jose Miranda clobbered a two-run homer on Monday in the Twins’ victory over the Royals.

    Advice: Miranda kicked off the scoring in the third inning of Monday afternoon’s matinee affair at Target Field with a colossal 437-foot drive to left-center field off Royals starter Alec Marsh. It wound up being his lone hit in three at-bats before being lifted from the contest of a defensive replacement.   • Vidal Bruján out of Monday’s lineup versus Padres
    After going 0-for-3 in an increasingly rare start Sunday, Vidal Bruján is out of the lineup for Monday’s game.

    Advice: Bruján was the Marlins’ primary second baseman before Tim Anderson got hurt, at which point he switched over to shortstop and Otto López took over at second. Unfortunately for Bruján, López got hot, and now Bruján has lost his spot with Anderson back, even though Anderson is running neck and neck with Andrew Benintendi for the title of baseball’s worst player.   • A’s outright Jordan Diaz to Triple-A
    Athletics sent INF Jordan Diaz outright to Triple-A Las Vegas.

    Advice: It’s surprising no one wanted to take a shot on a 23-year-old with some pretty good minor league numbers, but Diaz never has settled into a position and conditioning issues became a factor in his downfall with the A’s.     Diaz cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas by the Athletics on Monday.

    Jeimer Candelario (neck) is back in the lineup on Monday against the Cardinals.

    Advice: Candelario missed two games with a neck injury but is back in the lineup at third base and hitting third in the order. The 30-year-old has been turning the corner a bit in May, slashing .257/.313/.432 in 20 games in May with two home runs, 10 RBI, and just a 16.3 percent strikeout rate.     Michael Busch is not in the Cubs’ lineup on Monday against the Brewers.

    Advice: With the Brewers throwing a left-handed pitcher, Busch will find himself on the bench; however, he was also on the bench on Sunday. The rookie is hitting 12-for-64 (.188) in May with one home run and a 39.2 percent strikeout rate. If he doesn’t start picking it up soon, it’s fair to wonder how much longer the Cubs will keep him in the starting lineup.     Justin Turner is on the bench for Monday’s game against the White Sox.

    Advice: Turner got a day off on Sunday, but he remains out of the lineup on Monday with Daniel Vogelbach starting at designated hitter again. The 39-year-old is slashing just .222/.301/.359 in 173 plate appearances in 2024 with four home runs and 18 RBI. It’s possible that the Blue Jays will look to get at-bats for other players in his place, and fantasy managers can certainly look to do the same with a hot bat on the waiver wire.   • Austin Riley back in the lineup on Monday
    Austin Riley (side) is back in the lineup for Monday’s game against the Nationals.

    Advice: Riley missed 13 straight games with a side injury, but the Braves opted not to put him on the IL. With Ronald Acuna Jr. now out for the season, the Braves are certainly ecstatic to bring Riley back into the fold. He's hit leadoff during that entire span, though his time atop the order will likely end when Steven Kwan (hamstring) returns.
