• Leaves game with hamstring injury
Kwan was lifted from Saturday's game against the Angels due to left hamstring tightness, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Kwan looked to tweak his hamstring while chasing down a flyball in the top of the third inning and was removed prior to the top of the fourth. It's not clear at this point whether he might require an MRI, but the Guardians figure to offer an update on his condition after the game. Rotowire.com Today, 4:30 pm

  • Steven Kwan leaves game with hamstring tightness
Steven Kwan was removed from Saturday’s game against the Angels due to tightness in his left hamstring.

Advice: Kwan suffered the injury while running down a ball in the outfield. The severity of the injury, as well as how much time the 26-year-old outfielder may stand to miss, remain unclear. The Guardians should provide another update on his status after the game concludes. Rotoworld Today, 4:28 pm

  • Doomed by rough first inning
Irvin (2-3) was saddled with a loss Saturday versus the Blue Jays, permitting four runs (zero earned) on five hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Irvin needed 32 pitches to get through the first inning, thanks in large part due to a pair of errors committed behind him. The silver lining is all four of the runs the Jays scored in the opening frame were unearned, so he watched his ERA on the season drop from 4.28 to 3.72. Irvin mostly settled in after that but still required a season-high 107 pitches to cover his five innings. The righty has walked just eight guys in seven starts this season, showing immensely improved control after he issued free passes at a 10.2 percent clip in 2023. His next start is lined up to come in Boston. Rotowire.com Today, 4:20 pm

  • Kevin Kiermaier hits first homer in win over Nats
Kevin Kiermaier went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer as the Blue Jays won 6-3 over the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: After the Nationals scored two runs to cut into the Toronto lead in to bottom of the seventh, Kiermaier put two runs back on the board for the Blue Jays with a two-run homer off Derek Law. It was the first home run of the season for the 34-year-old defensive-first outfielder. Kiermaier is slashing .197/.246/.279 across 66 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 4:11 pm

  • Strong over 5.1 innings
Gausman (2-3) picked up the victory Saturday, tossing 5.1 shutout innings on three hits and two walks against the Nationals. He struck out eight.

Advice: The Nats made Gausman throw a season-high 112 pitches to get through his 5.1 frames, but the right-hander was able to keep them off the scoreboard. Gausman's eight strikeouts were his highest total this season, and he boasted a 48 percent whiff rate on his splitter. The righty's velocity remains down, but he's allowed just two earned runs over his last four starts and finally piled up some strikeouts in this one. Gausman is projected to face the Twins at home in his next outing. Rotowire.com Today, 4:10 pm

  • Danny Jansen collects two hits in win against Nats
Danny Jansen went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI on Saturday against the Nationals.

Advice: Jansen is off to a hot start at the plate since he was activated from the injured list on April 16. He drove in a run with a double in the first inning. He later drew a walk in the sixth and a knocked a single in the eighth to get on base for Kevin Kiermaier, who drove in two with a two-run homer. The 29-year-old catcher is slashing .306/.419/.694 with three homers, seven runs scored, and four RBI across 43 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 4:10 pm

  • CJ Abrams collects two hits, steals base vs. Blue Jays
CJ Abrams went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Abrams knocked a base hit in the third and stole second to get into scoring position, but was stranded on the bases. Down by four runs with the bases loaded, he sent a fly ball to deep center field that fell just short of a grand slam. He settled for a sacrifice fly to bring home a run. Abrams added a base hit in the ninth, ending his day slashing .281/.348/.570 with seven homers, 23 runs scored, 19 RBI, and eight steals across 136 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 4:09 pm

  • Kevin Gausman strikes out eight in win over Nats
Kevin Gausman struck out eight batters over 5 1/3 scoreless innings for the win against the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Gausman has now put together four excellent starts after struggling through his first three. He scattered three hits and two walks, striking out a season-high eight batters on 14 whiffs. He pitched into the sixth, leaving with one out at 112 pitches. The 33-year-old right-hander will take a 3.78 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 31/8 K/BB ratio across 33 1/3 innings into a start against the Twins in Toronto next Saturday. Rotoworld Today, 4:07 pm

  • Jake Irvin works around defensive issues Saturday
Jake Irvin allowed four runs -- zero earned -- with four strikeouts over five innings in a loss against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Irvin was put in a bad spot by the infield defense in the first inning. George Springer would reach on an error to lead off the game. A walk and a base hit would plate Springer for the first run before two more runs scored on a throwing error that would have gotten Irvin out of the frame. He would end the first at 35 pitches with four unearned runs in. He did a great job settling in, tossing four more scoreless innings before his day was done at 107 pitches. He struck out four. The 27-year-old right-hander will take a 3.72 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and a 30/8 K/BB ratio across 38 2/3 innings into a start against the Red Sox in Boston next Saturday. Rotoworld Today, 4:06 pm
