• Myers cruises to win over Tigers Friday
Tobias Myers threw eight shutout innings and got the win in the Brewers’ 10-0 victory over the Tigers on Friday.

Advice: Myers gave up one hit, walked three and struck out five. The win was his second of the year. He was staked to a 5-0 lead in the second inning and the Tigers never managed to get back in the game. Detroit’s offense totaled two hits on the night and one was with Myers already out of the game in the ninth inning of a 10-0 game. He hadn’t completed even five innings in any of his last four starts, but the rookie had his best outing of the year in Detroit. Myers brought his ERA down to 4.15 on the year. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

  • Olson hit hard again in loss Friday
Reese Olson allowed eight runs in four innings and took the loss against the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Olson gave up 12 hits, walked one and struck out six. He allowed five runs to the Red Sox in his last start and followed it up with his worst start of the season. Olson had a 1.92 ERA at the end of May, but now his ERA is 3.43 on the season. He allowed two home runs against the Red Sox in his last start, but didn’t allow any home runs to the Brewers. Olson did allow three doubles and a triple to Milwaukee. He struck out three in the first inning, but then allowed five runs in the second inning and it was downhill from there. The 24-year-old right-hander will look to bounce back against the Nationals at home next week. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

  • Battling finger soreness
Weathers was removed from Friday's game against the Guardians due to left index finger soreness, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Advice: Weathers was only able to get through 2.1 innings before being pulled, during which he allowed two earned runs on four hits while striking out three batters and walking none. • Set to undergo UCL surgery
Manager John Schneider said Friday that Manoah will undergo UCL surgery June 17, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Manoah left in the second inning of his last start May 29 against the White Sox, and he was placed on the injured list two days later with what was diagnosed as a right UCL sprain. Manoah began the season on the IL with right shoulder inflammation, and since returning May 5, he's posted a 1-2 record with a 3.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB over 24.1 innings. It's not clear whether Manoah will need Tommy John surgery or a brace repair, but the procedure will end the 26-year-old right-hander's 2024 season. Rotowire.com Today, 5:02 pm

  • Manoah to miss remainder of 2024 after UCL surgery
Alek Manoah will miss the rest of the 2024 season after undergoing surgery to repair his right UCL on June 17.

Advice: Manoah left his last outing with left elbow discomfort, and the 26-year-old will need to miss the remainder of 2024 after undergoing the procedure. It’s yet another setback for a right-hander who was among the best young hurlers in baseball in 2022, and now has many more questions than answers regarding his future in the sport. • Lucas Erceg (forearm) throws bullpen session
Lucas Erceg, on the IL with a forearm strain, threw a 20-pitch bullpen session without incident Thursday.

Advice: Erceg will throw again Sunday. The setup man will be eligible to come off the IL on June 16, and it sounds like he might be ready then. Rotoworld Today, 3:58 pm
