    • Fans nine in loss
Pepiot (4-3) took the loss Monday against Baltimore, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: Pepiot struggled to contain an imposing Orioles lineup, allowing a career-high nine hits. However, it wasn't all bad for the Rays righty as he generated an impressive 16 whiffs en route to nine strikeouts. Following this four-run appearance, Pepiot has thrown a 4.17 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 68:16 K:BB over 58.1 innings this season. The 26-year-old faces another difficult test in his next start, scheduled to be at Atlanta this weekend. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

    • Hudson takes eighth loss against Twins Monday
Dakota Hudson allowed two runs (one earned) and took the loss against the Twins on Monday.

Advice: Hudson gave up four hits, walked two and struck out one. He lowered his ERA to 4.87 with the effort. Hudson’s 5.13 xFIP this year is nearly identical to the 5.11 xFIP he had with the Cardinals last season. He’s off the fantasy radar. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Pirates at home this weekend.

    • Paddack gets fifth win against Rockies Monday
Chris Paddack threw 6 1/3 shutout innings and got the win in the Twins’ 5-0 victory over the Rockies on Monday.

Advice: Paddack gave up six hits, walked none and struck out six. The win was his fifth of the season and first since May 8th. Paddack lowered his ERA to 4.79 on the year, but there still might be room for improvement. His xFIP is considerably lower at 3.76 and his .338 BABIP allowed is higher than his career .293 BABIP allowed. The 28-year-old right-hander will look to keep it going in another good matchup against the Athletics at home this weekend.

    • Secures 15th save
Kimbrel picked up the save in Monday's 5-2 victory over Tampa Bay. He pitched a shutout inning allowing no hits and one walk with two strikeouts.

Advice: Trouble seemed to be brewing in the ninth for Kimbrel as he issued a leadoff walk to Amed Rosario, his first free pass allowed since May 8. However, the veteran closer collected himself, punching out two batters before wrapping up the Baltimore win by inducing a Jose Caballero popup. Including this effort, Kimbrel has pitched 11 consecutive outings without allowing an earned run, firing 10 innings with a 0.30 WHIP and 12:1 K:BB. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago
    • Craig Kimbrel quiets Rays to notch 15th save
Craig Kimbrel tossed a scoreless frame on Monday against the Rays to collect his 15th save of the season.

Advice: Kimbrel got the call to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and managed to work around a leadoff walk to Amed Rosario by striking out Jose Siri and Richie Palacios before coaxing a game-ending pop up from José Caballero. The 36-year-old veteran stopper has righted the ship over the last few weeks since reclaiming Baltimore’s closer role back in mid-May by converting second consecutive save opportunities since May 19. • Ryan Pepiot strikes out nine in loss to Orioles
Ryan Pepiot struck out nine and allowed four runs over six innings on Monday in a loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Pepiot put together an extremely impressive performance as solo homers from Gunnar Henderson and Ryan O’Hearn, respectively, represented the only damage against him early on until O’Hearn added a two-run double in the fifth inning, which was enough to saddle him with a loss. He generated 16 swinging strikes, including six on his changeup alone, and finished with a robust 35 percent CSW. The 26-year-old righty has excelled in his Rays debut this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in eight of his 11 starts. He’ll bring a sparkling 4.17 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 68/16 K/BB ratio across 58 1/3 innings (11 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Saturday against the Braves at Truist Park. • Brent Suter to serve as opener Tuesday
The Reds will have Brent Suter start Tuesday’s game against the Guardians.

Advice: Suter is capable of gong three innings if needed, but his two previous starts this year both saw him face just three batters before exiting after two-thirds of an inning. Nick Martinez will likely pitch multiple innings behind Suter. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago
    • Hits open market
Carasiti elected free agency Monday, per MLB's transaction log.

Advice: Carasiti was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Saturday, and rather than reporting to Triple-A Albuquerque, he'll test free agency. The 32-year-old has appeared in seven games for Colorado in 2024, posting a 10.38 ERA and 2.19 WHIP with seven strikeouts and three walks over 8.2 frames. Rotowire.com Today, 5:53 pm

    • Serving as opener Tuesday
Suter will open Tuesday's game against the Guardians, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Suter didn't make it through the first inning in his last stint as an opener, allowing one hit while recording two outs before being lifted May 26 against the Dodgers. Nick Martinez figures to be an option to follow Suter on Tuesday considering he hasn't pitched since Friday, needing only 11 pitches to get through a scoreless seventh inning against the Cubs.
