    Reds optioned LHP Sam Moll to Triple-A Louisville.

    Advice: On the surface, the move may seem surprising because Moll has not allowed a run in five innings while striking out four and walking none. However, Moll was one of three Reds relievers with minor league options remaining. The other two are Alexis Diaz and Francisco Cruz, who are clearly not being demoted. Any other reliever sent to the minors would have had to be designated for assignment. Frankie Montas is expected to be activated off the IL later in the week in a corresponding move.     Guardians activated LHP Sam Hentges (finger) from the 15-day injured list.

    Advice: The left-hander was dealing with inflammation on the middle finger of his pitching hand as was placed on the 15-day IL at the end of March. He now figures to be back as a main contributor for the Guardians out of the bullpen. Hentges had a 3.61 ERA and 17 holds in 52 1/3 innings out of the bullpen last season.
