    Urshela (hamstring) could join Triple-A Toledo this week to begin a rehab assignment, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

    Advice: Urshela remained with the Tigers for Monday's series opener in Cleveland and was spotted doing some pregame running on the field in what McCosky describes as a potential final test before the third baseman is cleared for a rehab assignment.   • Lands on IL with back injury
    The White Sox placed Leone on the 15-day injured list Monday, retroactive to May 5, with lower-back tightness, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

    Advice: Clevinger will make his season debut for the White Sox on Monday in Tampa Bay after getting built back up in the minors following an April 2 contract agreement. The right-hander allowed three runs on 10 hits and a 7:3 K:BB in 7.1 innings during his two starts with Charlotte. Clevinger threw 71 pitches in his most recent outing, so he won't be ready for a full workload Monday.   • Vladimir Gutierrez heads to Triple-A
    Red Sox assigned RHP Vladimir Gutierrez to Triple-A Worcester.

    Advice: Gutierrez was designated for assignment on Wednesday, but he cleared waivers and accepted his assignment to Triple-A Worcester. He was acquired from the Brewers in April and made one appearance for the Marlins earlier in the season, allowing three runs on three hits in four innings.     The Cardinals transferred Edman (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

    Advice: Edman has been on the IL all season while working his way back from October surgery on his right wrist. The 28-year-old has resumed taking swings from both sides of the plate without incident, but since he has yet to be cleared for full baseball activities, the expectation was that he would still need at least a few more weeks to finish up his rehab program. With that in mind, Edman's move to the 60-day IL doesn't come as surprise, and his potential timeline for a return won't be dramatically affected as a result.   • Skenes will make yet another minor-league start
    Paul Skenes is scheduled to pitch for Triple-A Indianapolis this week.

    Advice: Fans and fantasy managers will have to wait yet another week, at least, before seeing Skenes make his MLB debut. The 21-year-old has made seven starts at Triple-A in 2024, posting a 0.99 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 45/8 K/BB ratio in 27 1/3 innings.     The Cardinals placed Gallegos on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right shoulder impingement.

    Advice: Gallegos' move to the IL comes one day after he failed to record an out while surrendering three earned runs on three hits en route to taking his first loss of the season in the Cardinals' series finale with the White Sox. Considering Gallegos allowed four runs while recording zero outs in his appearance before that March 30 in Detroit, his injury might have been bothering him for a while.
