• Swats fifth homer
Albies went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's win over the Tigers.

Advice: The second baseman belted the game-winning homer in the eighth inning off Shelby Miller in a 2-1 victory, giving Atlanta its only lead of the night. The long ball was only the fifth of the year for Albies, and the 27-year-old has had trouble finding any rhythm at the plate in June, slashing .206/.227/.397 over 15 games this month. • Gets hit in first start
Wall went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Monday's win over the Tigers.

Advice: The 28-year-old drove home Atlanta's first run of the night in the seventh inning with a two-out single. Wall was making his first start of the season in the majors -- he made two appearances off the bench in April before being sent down to Triple-A Gwinnett -- and he could be in line for consistent playing time as a strong-side platoon partner for Ramon Laureano, with Atlanta missing both Ronald Acuna (knee) and Michael Harris (hamstring) from its usual starting outfield. Wall was slashing .287/.393/.415 with four homers and 10 steals in 44 games for Gwinnett. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

  • Outrighted to Triple-A
The Pirates outrighted Goodrum to Triple-A Indianapolis on Monday.

Advice: Goodrum cleared waivers after being designated for assignment. He has the option of electing free agency, but it's not clear at this point whether he will do that or accept an outright assignment. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago

  • Sent back to minors
The Twins optioned Varland to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.

Advice: Varland served as the 27th man during Sunday's doubleheader against the Angels, giving up two runs in 4.1 frames out of the bullpen in the second game. The righty will slide back into the rotation at St. Paul. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago

  • Returned to Triple-A
The Athletics optioned Basso to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.

Advice: Basso was up as the 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader versus the Twins, allowing two runs in two innings in the first game. The lefty will rejoin Las Vegas' rotation. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

  • Blasts homer in loss
Turang went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Monday in a loss to the Angels.

Advice: Turang plated the final run of the contest with his 419-foot solo shot in the fifth inning. The second-year infielder has gone deep four times through 68 games this season after hitting six homers in 137 contests last year. Turang's skill set is more centered on speed than power, so anything fantasy managers get in the homer department is a nice bonus. The speedster has made a big impact on the rosters of fantasy managers who had the foresight to pick him up late in fantasy drafts or on the waiver wire, as he's slashing .291/.359/.406 on the season with 25 RBI, 35 runs and 26 stolen bases in 27 attempts. • Swats 10th homer
Neto went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Monday's 5-3 win against Milwaukee.

Advice: Neto provided what turned out to be the winning margin with his two-run shot in the fourth inning. The long ball was his 10th of the season through 260 plate appearances, one more than he hit across 329 plate appearances as a rookie last year. Three of Neto's homers have come over his past six games, and he's produced seven RBI while batting .318 over that span. Rotowire.com Today, 12:18 am

  • Drops second straight start
Rodriguez (0-2) took the loss against the Angels on Monday, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Rodriguez's second big-league outing went about as poorly as his first -- he gave up two fewer hits but twice as many earned runs while failing to complete five frames. The right-hander did make it through two innings unscathed but was stung by a three-run third before serving up a two-run homer in the fourth. Rodriguez has given up six earned runs across 8.1 frames over his two starts, and he could be pushed back to the minors if Jakob Junis (shoulder) returns to the big club this week, as expected. • Logs 13th save Monday
Estevez earned a save against the Brewers on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Estevez had little trouble protecting a two-run, ninth-inning lead, retiring the side in order on 13 pitches. The veteran reliever has turned things around after a rough middle portion of May -- he hasn't allowed a baserunner in seven straight outings, racking up six saves and a win during that span. As such, his hold on the Angels' closer role is, for now at least, very secure. Rotowire.com Today, 12:09 am
