• Nelson Velázquez delivers clutch game-tying hit
Nelson Velázquez had a pinch-hit two-RBI triple to tie the game in the ninth inning in a 4-3 win over the Padres on Sunday.

Advice: Velázquez didn’t start the game, but he was brought on to face left-hander Yuki Matsui in the ninth inning and drilled a 109 mph triple off the center field wall to tie the game. It was a ball that could have left the yard in 18 of 30 MLB stadiums and continued Velázquez’s trend of only getting hits in big situations. In his last 11 games, Velázquez has gone 8-for-43 but five of those hits have been home runs and two others have driven in runs. The slugger is hitting just .219 on the season, which will dampen his fantasy value, but the power is for real. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:46 pm
  • Dominic Fletcher suffers shoulder injury Sunday
Dominic Fletcher was removed from Sunday’s game against the Brewers after banging his shoulder into the left field wall to steal a three-run homer from William Contreras.

Advice: Fletcher told the coaching staff that he’d have trouble throwing the ball, which is why the decision was made to pull him. White Sox’ skipper Pedro Grifol told reporters after the game that Fletcher will be re-evaluated on Monday. For now, he should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:43 pm
  • Fernando Tatis Jr. drives in one in loss
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in a loss to the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Tatis Jr. gave the Padres a 2-1 lead in the eighth inning with a run-scoring single that should have been enough to close this one out. It was his 31st RBI of the season and while the 25-year-old hasn’t truly exploded at any point this year, he could easily finish the season with 30 home runs and 20 steals, which is impressive work. If he can keep his batting average around .270, he should still put up fringe first-round value even though he hasn’t stood out as an elite fantasy player at any stretch this season. • Nursing ankle issue
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Abreu twisted his right ankle in the dugout during Sunday's loss to the Tigers and is receiving treatment, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old went 1-for-4 with a run scored before he suffered the injury and was replaced by a pinch hitter during the ninth inning. Abreu will have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery before the start of a two-game series versus Atlanta on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:17 pm

  • Wenceel Pérez collects three hits in Tigers’ win
Wenceel Pérez finished 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored Sunday as the Tigers topped the Red Sox 8-4 in 10 innings.

Advice: The second run came as the automatic runner in the 10th. Each time it’s looked like Pérez’s hot start to his big-league career might be coming to a conclusion, he bounces back with something like this. The 24-year-old had gone 6-for-40 with one RBI in his previous 10 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:07 pm

  • Jackson Chourio has HR, three RBI in win
Jackson Chourio went 2-for-4 with a home run on three RBI in a 6-3 win over the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: Chourio got the Brewers on the board in the second inning by socking a three-run home run 385 feet at 102.5 mph off the bat. It was his sixth home run of the season, and he now has 19 RBI on the year. Chourio has an elevated strikeout rate which has helped keep his batting average down, but he has shown a fantasy-friendly profile with the six home runs and seven steals. It may not fully click this year for the 20-year-old, but the future is certainly bright. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:05 pm
  • Wilyer Abreu getting treatment on his ankle
Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora told reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Tigers that Wilyer Abreu is getting treatment on his ankle.

Advice: The 24-year-old outfielder slipped down the dugout steps late in the game and appeared to roll his ankle. He stayed in the game though, until he was pinch-hit for against left-hander Andrew Chafin in the ninth inning. It doesn’t sound like it’s anything serious, but still something that fantasy managers should take note of heading into next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:54 pm

  • Adolis García homers in win over Marlins
Adolis García went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a win over the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: García took a sixth-inning offering from Trevor Rogers and hit it 395 feet at 108.2 mph for his 13th home run on the season. He also added an RBI earlier in the game and now has 40 RBI on the year, which has helped prop up a disappointing .231/.285/.462 slash line. As a free-swinger, García has always seemed at risk for batting average regression, and it’s possible he won’t match last year’s .245 batting average, but the power remains a true asset. • Trevor Larnach hits sixth homer versus Astros
Trevor Larnach hit a leadoff homer and walked Sunday against the Astros.

Advice: Larnach’s two balls in play today were hit 106.9 mph and 105.6 mph, with the latter being a lineout to center. It was an important day for him, as the Twins are going to have drop someone to make room for Royce Lewis on Tuesday and it’s not at all likely to be one of their veteran bench players. Larnach and Jose Miranda have made stronger cases for sticking around than Edouard Julien and Alex Kirilloff. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:21 pm
