• Moves rehab to Triple-A
Gallo (shoulder) went 0-for-4 with a walk, a run and an RBI on Tuesday in a rehab game for Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Gallo went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and three walks between a pair of rehab games for Single-A Fredericksburg over the weekend and received the green light to move his assignment to a higher-level affiliate. He served as Syracuse's designated hitter Tuesday but could see action at first base and in the corner outfield for the remainder of his rehab assignment. Gallo may have to settle for a part-time role once the Nationals bring him back from the 10-day injured list. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Sitting against lefty
Benson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Benson and fellow lefty hitter Jake Fraley will head to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Jordan Montgomery toes the slab for Arizona. Stuart Fairchild and Luke Maile will join the lineup as the starters in right field and designated hitter, respectively, while Benson and Fraley sit. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago

  • Taking seat Wednesday
McCarthy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: McCarthy maintains a .369 on-base percentage over 86 plate appearances this season and has seemingly moved into an everyday role in the outfield while Alek Thomas (hamstring) is on the shelf, but the 26-year-old will hit the bench Wednesday. The Diamondbacks haven't indicated that the lefty-hitting McCarthy is dealing with an injury, but he was lifted for a pinch hitter in Tuesday's 6-2 win and is now on the bench Wednesday while the Reds bring a right-hander (Graham Ashcraft) to the hill. Pavin Smith will replace McCarthy in the Arizona outfield. Rotowire.com Today, 12:22 pm
  • Jo Adell homers, knocks in two to lead Angels
Jo Adell went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI as the Angels edged the Pirates 5-4 on Wednesday.

Advice: Adell, who hit second in three straight games last week, entered in a 1-for-20 slump, so he was back down to eighth in the Angels lineup today. Manager Ron Washington keeps trying to go with the hot hand at the top of the order, but he can’t seem to get the timing right. Adell is batting .259/.311/.506, which is the best line sported by any currently healthy Angels player. Rotoworld Today, 12:20 pm

  • On base thrice in Tuesday's win
Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a single, two walks, a stolen base and a run in a win over the Twins on Tuesday.

Advice: Rodriguez deployed the small-ball strategy to great effectiveness Tuesday, pushing his OBP for the season back over the .300 mark (.309) in the process. The steal was Rodriguez's eighth of the season in 10 attempts; however, he's still sitting on just a single home run and five extra-base hits overall in 152 plate appearances, after averaging one XBH every 10.1 trips to the batter's box a season ago. Both Rodriguez's barrel (6.4 percent) and hard-hit (30.9 percent) rates have taken notable dips from their respective 11.9 percent and 38.87 percent figures in 2023, partly explaining the power drought. • On bench against righty
Butler is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Rangers.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Butler typically sits out against left-handed pitchers, but he'll bow out of the starting nine for Wednesday's early game while right-hander Michael Lorenzen takes the hill for the Rangers. Brent Rooker will serve as the Athletics' starting right fielder for Game 1, but Tyler Nevin may end up being the primary replacement for Butler against right-handed pitching moving forward if Oakland elects to give rookie Brett Harris a full-time role at third base. • Idle against lefty
Outman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Outman will retreat to the bench Wednesday with southpaw Ryan Weathers taking the hill for Miami. He'll be replaced in center field by Andy Pages. Rotowire.com Today, 11:09 am

  • Homers twice
Pillar went 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI during Tuesday's 9-0 win over the Pirates.

Advice: Pillar made it a 3-0 ballgame with his three-run home run in the fourth inning, and his solo shot in the seventh gave the Angels a convincing 7-0 lead. The 35-year-old now sports an inflated .866 OPS through 43 plate appearances this season, but he shouldn't be relied on as a consistent source of production in fantasy. • Getting Wednesday off
Chourio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Chourio is hitting .357 with one stolen base over his first five games of May, but he's still slashing just .193/.233/.263 overall since April 16 and has seen his job security slip a bit as a result. The rookie will find himself on the bench Wednesday for the third time in seven games. Rotowire.com Today, 10:01 am
