• José Buttó earns win for Mets in St. Louis
José Buttó allowed three runs in five innings against the Cardinals to earn the win on Tuesday.

Advice: Buttó was more gritty than good in this one. He gave up a lead-off home run to Brendan Donovan and two more runs in the first before settling down and willing his way through five innings. Command was an issue for Buttó in this one, as just 35% of his pitches were in the zone and he walked three with just three strikeouts. The Mets rotation is getting crowded with Christian Scott’s promotion and Tylor Megill, David Peterson, and Kodai Senga working back from injury. Rotoworld Today, 8:18 pm

  • Miles Mikolas falls apart in fifth inning
Miles Mikolas surrendered six runs over four-plus innings in a loss to the Mets on Tuesday.

Advice: Mikolas cruised through the first four innings before the Mets jumped all over him for six hits and six earned runs to chase him before recording an out in the fifth. It was Mikolas’ second time facing the Mets in three starts and they were able to get to him. His ERA rose to 6.43. Rotoworld Today, 8:14 pm

  • Tayler Saucedo suffers knee injury on play at first
Tayler Saucedo left Tuesday’s game in the eighth inning with a right knee injury.

Advice: Saucedo unfortunately slipped on first base while running to cover and trying to avoid a diving Austin Martin and was in a great deal of pain afterwards. He’ll surely land on the IL, which could lead to a promotion for Sammy Peralta. Rotoworld Today, 8:10 pm
  • Ober solid but Twins’ bullpen blows lead late
Bailey Ober allowed two earned runs over five innings while striking out seven in Tuesday’s loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Ober gave allowed two runs in the second, one of which came on a solo homer to Mitch Haniger, but he was largely in control in this one. He walked just one batter to go along with his three hits, and retired the last six batters he faced before turning things over to the bullpen. The Twins’ relievers would go on to allow eight earned runs over four innings to spoil Ober’s perfect outing, as he’ll now look to notch his second win of the month on Sunday against the Blue Jays. • Emerson Hancock allows four ER over four innings
Emerson Hancock allowed four earned runs over four innings in Tuesday’s win over the Twins.

Advice: Things got rough for Hancock in the third inning. Entering the frame with a 2-0 lead, Hancock allowed a two-out single to Jose Miranda followed by a walk to Edouard Julien. Trevor Larnach would single to score Miranda, but it was a three-run homer by Ryan Jeffers in the following at-bat that gave that did the most damage. Emerson would pitch a perfect fourth and be pulled in place of Gabe Speier to start the fifth. He didn’t record a strikeout in this one, and will carry a 5.24 ERA into Sunday’s start against the Athletics. Rotoworld Today, 7:53 pm
  • Secures win Tuesday
Neris (2-0) worked around a hit and a walk to pitch a scoreless ninth inning and earn the win Tuesday against the Padres.

Advice: Neris pitched a clean top of the ninth inning, then scooped up a win when Michael Busch homered in bottom half of the frame to break a 2-2 tie. On a less positive note, the veteran allowed multiple baserunners for the second straight game, which would be a concerning trend if it continues. For now, Neris is locked in as Chicago's closer, having supplanted Adbert Alzolay earlier in the season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:50 pm
  • Colin Rea surrenders four runs to Royals
Colin Rea surrendered four runs in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday versus the Royals.

Advice: All of the runs came in the fifth, which started off with an MJ Melendez triple to right that probably ought to have been caught by Sal Frelick. Had that turned into the out, Rea likely gets through five scoreless and gets to open the sixth. To be fair, though, the Royals did hit Rea quite hard over the rest of the fifth. Thanks to a late comeback, Rea avoided what would have been his first loss. He remains 3-0 with a 3.29 ERA. Rotoworld Today, 7:49 pm

  • Imanaga dazzles, strikes out 8 in win over Padres
Shota Imanaga allowed two earned runs over seven innings while striking out eight in the Cubs’ 3-2 win over the Padres.

Advice: Imanaga was stellar again on a night where the Cubs only provided him one run on offense. Unfortunately, a disastrous eighth inning, which he entered with 95 pitches alread on the ledger, quickly went awry for the lefty, who gave up a single a two-run homer to Jurickson Profar in the frame to get saddled with the loss. Outside of the disastrous eighth, Imanaga didn’t run into too much trouble in this one, stranding only one runner in scoring position while limiting the Padres to only singles through his first seven innings. He still sits at a perfect 5-0 on the season, but will look to earn his sixth win on Monday against the Braves. Rotoworld Today, 7:22 pm

  • Gallen throws six shutout in win
Zac Gallen threw six shutout innings in a 6-2 win over the Reds, allowing just one hit while striking out six.

Advice: Gallen also walked three batters on the day and started just 11 of the 22 batters he faced with a strike. In fact, Gallen threw pitches in the strike zone just 46 percent of the time on the day; however, when he was able to get a pitch in the zone, the Reds had a really tough time making contact which led Gallen to post a 26 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW. It wasn’t his sharpest outing, but he benefited from a Reds team that is having a tough time hitting anybody right now. The effort lowered Gallen’s ERA to 2.84, and he gets a much tougher test against the Orioles this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 6:32 pm
