    Advice: That must be some serious illness that Fraley has been dealing with. It’s still somewhat encouraging that the Reds haven’t placed him on the injured list, so there must be hope that he’s only a day or two away from returning.     Tommy Pham will start in center field and bat second in his White Sox’ debut against the Rays on Friday night.

    Advice: The 36-year-old outfielder played in four games during his brief stay at Triple- Charlotte, going 5-for-17 with a double.     Wilyer Abreu is absent from the Red Sox’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Cubs.

    Advice: It looks to be just a regular day of rest with tough left-hander Shota Imanaga taking the hill for the Cubs. Abreu did remain in the lineup (and in the cleanup spot in the order) the last time that the Red Sox faced a southpaw, so hopefully this is just a regular maintenance type of thing and not a sign of things to come.     Mark Canha went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles as the Tigers were shut out by the Royals on Friday afternoon at Comerica Park.

    Advice: As a team, the Tigers tallied just five total hits in the ballgame, with Canha the only player to have more than one. The 35-year-old outfielder is actually off to a nice start in his first season with the Tigers, slashing .271/.398/.518 with five homers, 14 RBI and a stolen base through his first 25 games.
