• Fills in at first base
Steer started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Texas.

Advice: Steer moved from his usual left field to first base, replacing the injured Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand). The run batted in was just his second in the last 14 games, but Speer continues to the lead the club with 20 RBI through 28 games. The steal was his seventh, nearly half of the 15 he had over 156 games in 2023. Encarnacion-Strand may miss a few more games, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, and Steer could add to his games played at first base. So far, he's made four appearances there. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago

  • Jose Miranda drives in two as Twins crush Angels
Jose Miranda went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBI on Sunday, leading the Twins to an 11-5 victory over the Angels.

Advice: Miranda opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI single off of Reid Detmers in the fourth inning. He then capped off the Twins’ offense in the onslaught with an RBI double in the eighth that drove in Byron Buxton. With his three-hit effort, the 25-year-old infielder is now hitting .292/.320/.500 with a pair of homers, six RBI and a stolen base on the season. Rotoworld Today, 5:19 pm

  • Luis Rengifo swats first home run in loss Sunday
Luis Rengifo swatted his first home run of the season on Sunday afternoon as the Angels fell to the Twins.

Advice: The versatile 27-year-old tagged Twins’ right-hander Pablo Lopez for his 372-foot (95.7 mph EV) two-run shot in the fifth inning. He was also hit by a pitch in the seventh inning and scored on an RBI single off the bat of Mike Trout. Rengifo finished the afternoon 1-for-3 and is now hitting a solid .289/.341/.395 with a homer, eight RBI and seven stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Today, 5:05 pm

  • Launches homer in loss
Paredes went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Paredes took Erick Fedde deep for a solo shot in the top of the fourth, giving Tampa Bay an early 1-0 lead. He later singled and came around to score in the top of the ninth on a double from Harold Ramirez. The homer was the 25-year-old's seventh of the season and second in his last five games. Since April 14, Paredes has batted .314 with three home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored over 51 at-bats in 13 games. Rotowire.com Today, 4:17 pm

  • Josh Rojas smacks leadoff homer in loss to D’Backs
Josh Rojas smacked a leadoff home run against his former club on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Mariners to victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Rojas stepped into the leadoff spot over the weekend with J.P. Crawford on the injured list, and he responded by crushing a pair of leadoff home runs — one on Friday night and another to open the home half of the first inning on Sunday. That one, was a 349-foot (102.8 mph EV) blast off of Brandon Pfaadt. Rojas finished the day 1-for-3 and is now hitting .297/.366/.516 with three homers, six RBI and one stolen base on the season. He plays everyday against right-handed pitching and could be worth a look in deeper mixed leagues, especially while he’s hitting atop the M’s lineup. Rotoworld Today, 4:02 pm

  • Senzel homers twice in win over Marlins
Nick Senzel went 2-for-6 with two home runs and five RBI in a win over the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: Those were Senzel’s first two home runs of the season, but both were well-struck, traveling over 400 feet each time. The 28-year-old is not known for having big-time power and is slashing just .222/.263/.639 on the season with nine RBI, so this was likely just a one-off great day. However, he is playing most days for the Nationals and could be on the radar in the deepest formats. Rotoworld Today, 2:42 pm

  • Mark Vientos hits walkoff homer in 11th
Mark Vientos walked it off with a two-run homer in the bottom of the 11th as the Mets beat the Cardinals 4-2 on Sunday.

Advice: Harrison Bader had previously tied the game with a single. Vientos entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Brett Baty against lefty Matthew Liberatore in the ninth and singled. He then remained in to play third base and, surprisingly, got another crack at Liberatore in the 11th. With Vientos going 3-for-4 so far in what was supposed to be a brief stay with the Mets, one wonders if the Mets might send Baty down and give Vientos a real chance at the third. It’d be a downgrade defensively, but the Mets would have Joey Wendle available to take over late in games. Rotoworld Today, 2:36 pm

  • Nolan Arenado goes 0-for-5 in loss to Mets
Nolan Arenado finished 0-for-5 in the loss to the Mets on Sunday, snapping a 25-game on-base streak.

Advice: Arenado struck out once and failed to hit a ball hard in his other four attempts. Up with one out and a man on third in the top of the 11th, he hit a 200-foot fly that turned into a double play because Willson Contreras forgot how many outs there were. Arenado has just one homer this year. His hard-hit rate is only 27%. He’s doing what he can with a .271 average and a .328 OBP, but the power just isn’t there right now. • Nevin has two hits, HR in win over Orioles
Tyler Nevin went 2-for-5 with a home run in a win over the Orioles on Sunday.

Advice: The A’s were roundly criticized for deciding to play Nevin over Esteury Ruiz; however, Nevin is hitting .286/.342/.400 during his time in Oakland with two home runs and six RBI. His homer was a no-doubter, leaving the bat at 105.7 mph and traveling 407 feet. He’s hitting near the top of the A’s lineup and should be added in AL-only leagues while he’s swinging the bat like this. He can be left on the wire in most other formats for now.
