    • Charlie Morton has vintage performance in win
Charlie Morton allowed one run on three hits in six innings in a win over the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Morton looked like his old self, striking out eight and walking two. He induced 22 whiffs on 49 swings for a ridiculous 45 percent whiff rate and 35 percent CSW. It was perhaps the 40-year-old’s best start of the season, and he’ll look to keep it going next week in a tough showdown against the Yankees. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:02 pm

    • Fans six in Friday's loss
Gausman (5-5) took the loss Friday as the Blue Jays fell 3-1 to the Guardians, giving up three runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander's velocity was erratic all night -- his very first fastball to Steven Kwan to lead off the game clocked at only 89 mph, but one batter later he popped 94.4 mph against Andres Gimenez. Without consistent stuff, Gausman wound up getting tagged for five extra-base hits, including a Will Brennan solo shot in the fourth inning. He was able to minimize the damage, however, and Gausman's now given up three runs or fewer in five of his last six starts, producing a 3.26 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 38:6 K:BB through 38.2 innings over that stretch. He'll try to get back in the win column in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Red Sox. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:33 am

    • Kevin Gausman surrenders three runs in loss
Kevin Gausman lost to the Guardians after allowing three runs in 5 1/3 innings on Friday.

Advice: Gausman’s velocity was well down for a second straight start tonight, even though he was working with an extra day off. It’s a definite cause for concern at this point; there’d be much more reason to expect Gausman to bounce back while throwing 94 mph than there is while he’s throwing 92. If there’s reason for optimism, it’s that’s he’s occasionally dealt with fluctuating velocity in the past. Rotoworld Friday, 7:13 pm

    • Nestor Cortes solid for seven against Royals
Nestor Cortes pitched seven innings of two-run ball in a no-decision against the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Cortes turned in his best start in weeks, but he was still in line for the loss when he left. The Yankees offense did let him off the hook, but the Bombers still lost the game to fall to 6-9 in Cortes’s starts. It’s a bizarre figure, given that Cortes has been pretty good with his 3.59 ERA and the team is 43-13 when anyone else starts. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:27 pm

    • Goes seven strong in no-decision
Cortes allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two over seven innings during Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Royals. He didn't factor in the decision.

Advice: Cortes ran into some trouble in the fourth inning with two runs allowed but otherwise kept Kansas City off the board, pitching deep into yet another start. This was his fifth outing this season of seven or more innings, which is tied for the second most in the American League. The two strikeouts tied for a season low, and the veteran lefty has now gone four straight starts without a win. He will take a 3.59 ERA into his next start, which lines up to come against the Orioles next week. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:56 pm

    • Earns sixth win
Webb (6-5) picked up the win Wednesday against the Astros, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out five over six innings.

Advice: Webb held Houston to one run through his first five innings before giving up a two-run homer to Yordan Alvarez in the sixth. However, the Giants would hang on for a 5-3 victory while Webb logged his sixth quality start in his last seven outings. Overall, the right-hander sports a 3.02 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP and 78:20 K:BB across 92.1 innings this year. Webb's currently slated for a road matchup with the Cubs early next week. • Logan Webb completes six innings to defeat Astros
Logan Webb yielded three runs over six innings on Wednesday in a win over the Astros.

Advice: Webb limited Houston’s formidable, yet injury-depleted, lineup to just a fourth-inning RBI single by Jeremy Peña before Yordan Alvarez clobbered a two-run homer a couple frames later. Still, he was good enough to outduel Astros ace Framber Valdez at Oracle Park in this one. The 27-year-old workhorse will bring a strong 3.02 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 78/20 K/BB ratio across 92 1/3 innings (15 starts) into a road tilt on Tuesday against the Cubs at historic Wrigley Field. • Another scoreless start
Quantrill (6-4) picked up the win Tuesday against Minnesota, allowing three hits and one walk with five strikeouts across six scoreless innings.

Advice: Quantrill has gone 11 straight innings without allowing a run and issued fewer than two walks for the first time in four starts. The 29-year-old didn't yield an extra-base hit Tuesday and didn't let a runner get past second base, qualifying for his sixth quality start in his last eight outings. While his strikeout stuff has been hit-or-miss, Quantrill owns a 6-1 record and a 1.91 ERA since the start of May. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Dodgers at Coors Field on Monday. Quantrill allowed four runs in 4.1 innings when he faced the Dodgers in Los Angeles on June 1. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:12 pm
    • Quantrill pitches six scoreless innings in win
Cal Quantrill pitched six scoreless innings while striking out five, earning the win in the Rockies’ 5-4 win over the Twins.

Advice: Quantril hasn’t allowed a run in his last two starts, scattering six hits over 11 frames while walking five. The veteran righty held the Twins to just three hits while on the mound, positioning himself nicely to earn his sixth win of the season. Quantril now has an ERA of 3.30 and a WHIP of 1.25. After a slow start to the season, he’s allowed just 10 earned runs over his last 41 innings (2.20 ERA) and will have a chance to earn his seventh win on Monday against the Dodgers.
