    • Outfield possible after Turner back
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Saturday that Sosa playing the outfield after Trea Turner (hamstring) returns is "absolutely" a possibility, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Sosa has a total of just 5.1 innings of outfield experience and has never started a game in the outfield in pro ball. He's been outstanding at shortstop since Turner got hurt, slashing .310/.380/.606 with three home runs in 22 games, which has the Phillies contemplating other ways of keeping him in the lineup long term. The Phillies could have an opening in left field if Brandon Marsh (hamstring) needs to miss time, but Sosa will still be needed at shortstop until Turner is back. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

    • Recovering from minor setback
Turner (hamstring) had a minor setback when he felt some leg soreness following a high-intensity workout on May 25, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Turner resumed workouts this past weekend, doing some light jogging and change-of-direction running in addition to fielding grounders and hitting in the cage. There is no timetable for when he will run the bases, and he will need to do that as well as sliding drills before he's cleared for a rehab assignment. Turner is not expected to travel with the Phillies for their series in London against the Mets later this week. After he had seemingly be trending toward an earlier-than-expected return, Turner now looks to be at least a couple weeks away. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago

    • Nolan Jones (back) starts rehab assignment
Nolan Jones (back, knee) began a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old outfielder went 0-for-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch in the contest. He should only need a few games to get his timing back before becoming an option to rejoin the Rockies’ lineup. Prior to landing on the injured list, Jones had struggled to a .170/.243/.277 slash line through his first 26 games with only one home run, seven RBI and a pair of stolen bases. • Back in action
Jones (knee) began a new rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Jones originally landed on the injured list April 30 with a back issue, but he then injured his knee during his original rehab assignment. It's now the latter issue that is keeping him sidelined, though he played with Albuquerque on Sunday and went 0-for-2 with a walk while also being hit with a pitch and serving as the designated hitter. • Starting series opener Monday
Eovaldi will start Monday's game against the Tigers at Globe Life Field.

Advice: Eovaldi returned from the 15-day injured list last Tuesday and took back his spot in the Texas rotation, but he covered just three innings and tossed 37 pitches in the Rangers' 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks. Because Eovaldi didn't go on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being activated, the Rangers deliberately limited his workload in what was his first start since May 2. Eovaldi didn't report any renewed discomfort with his right groin coming out of the outing against the Diamondbacks, so he should be in store for a more typical starter's workload Monday. • Activated and optioned
The Cubs reinstated Palencia (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Iowa on Monday, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Palencia will stick around with Iowa after he made six rehab appearances with the affiliate while he was on the shelf with a right shoulder strain. Though Palencia struck out eight over 4.2 scoreless innings across the last four appearances, the Cubs didn't have room for the right-hander in the bullpen. Palencia should rank high on the list for a call-up the next time the Cubs require an extra relief arm. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago
    • Cubs activate and option Daniel Palencia on Monday
Cubs activated RHP Daniel Palencia from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Iowa.

Advice: The 24-year-old hurler had already been at Triple-A Iowa on a minor league rehab assignment, so he’ll remain there while he continues to hone his craft. Palencia has posted a 6.55 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and a 12/8 K/BB ratio over 11 innings in seven appearances with the Cubs this season. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago
    • Heating back up
DeJong went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI on Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: DeJong began the day with a sacrifice fly in the first inning and popped a leadoff homer three frames later. He went deep four times in a 12-game span through mid-May and has now gone yard twice in the last three games. DeJong has a 34.2 percent strikeout rate across 184 plate appearances this season, which will prevent consistent production, but he's hit .245 with a .766 OPS and six home runs since the start of May. • Luis Arraez (shoulder) hopeful to play Monday
Luis Arraez (shoulder) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he was fine and would be in the Padres’ lineup on Monday.

Advice: The 27-year-old wizard with the bat suffered a shoulder injury while sliding into second base in the fifth inning on Sunday. It looks like it’s only a minor issue though and not something that is going to keep Arraez out of action. Be sure to check the Padres’ lineup prior to Monday’s battle against the Diamondbacks, but if Arraez has his way he’ll be in there. Rotoworld Today, 9:02 am
