Mets optioned RHP Dedniel Núñez to Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Núñez will head back to Triple-A with Cole Sulser coming up to provide a fresh arm for the New York bullpen. It’s likely Núñez will be up-and-down for the Mets throughout the 2024 campaign. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

  • Nabs win in relief Friday
Grove (1-1) earned the victory against Atlanta on Friday, retiring all three batters he faced in the 11th inning.

Advice: Grove faced a daunting task in the top of the 11th frame, as he came on with the automatic runner at second base and Ronald Acuna, Ozzie Albies and Austin Riley due up for Atlanta. The right-hander handled the situation with aplomb, retiring all three batters without allowing the ball to leave the infield. Grove then picked up the win when the Dodgers scored in the bottom of the inning. The right-hander has turned things around after his early-season struggles, posting a 2.38 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB over his past 11.1 frames and holding the opponent scoreless in seven of his past eight outings. • Notches two steals Friday
Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a run, an RBI, two walks and two stolen bases Friday in a 4-3 extra-innings victory versus Atlanta.

Advice: Ohtani's first theft came in the third inning, and it led to Los Angeles' first run, as Will Smith followed with a two-out RBI single. It looked like Ohtani would be picked off in the eighth frame, but Matt Olson mishandled the throw to first base, allowing the Japanese superstar to make to second base safely. Ohtani later came up with a huge hit in the bottom of the 10th, stroking a one-out single to center field to plate the tying run after Atlanta had scored in the top of the frame. Ohtani continues to put up big numbers for the Dodgers and for his fantasy managers, as he's slashing .336/.405/.612 with seven homers, 20 RBI, 26 runs and seven steals (in seven attempts) through 153 plate appearances. • Garcia (lower back) could be available Saturday
Yimi Garcia (back) will throw before Saturday’s game to determine his availability.

Advice: Garcia has been unavailable while dealing with a lower back injury. The right-hander will throw before the game, and the Blue Jays will make a determination as to whether he’s available for the contest or not. Garcia has been outstanding in 2024 with a 0.68 ERA and 16/3 K/BB over 13 1/3 innings over 13 appearances. Rotoworld Today, 11:36 am
  • Moved to 60-day IL
Atlanta transferred Perdomo (elbow) to the 60-day IL on Saturday.

Advice: Perdomo was placed on Atlanta's 15-day IL at the beginning of the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery last fall. He wasn't expected to pitch in 2025, and his move to the 60-day IL is to allow Atlanta to place right-hander Pierce Johnson on the 15-day injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 11:30 am
  • Returning Sunday
Manoah (shoulder) will start Sunday's game against the Nationals, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Manoah has been on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation since the beginning of the season. He's made five rehab starts in the minors -- four at Triple-A Buffalo -- and has given up 19 runs across 19.2 total innings while posting a 28:11 K:BB. However, the 26-year-old looked dominant in his most recent Triple-A outing Tuesday, giving up one earned run across six innings while punching out 12 batters and walking two. Manoah's performance Tuesday could be a sign that his struggles are finally behind him, though he remains an extremely risky streaming option given his lack of consistency. • Lands on 15-day IL
Atlanta placed Johnson (elbow) on the 15-day injured list Saturday.

Advice: Johnson has served as the primary right-handed set up man for Atlanta this season. He did not allow a run over his last seven appearances and did not give up a hit over his last five. Johnson has a 3.00 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB over 12 innings this season. Atlanta will likely to lean on right-hander Joe Jimenez for high leverage spots while Johnson is on the shelf. To make room on the 40-man roster, Atlanta transfered left-hander Angel Perdomo to the 60-day injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 11:26 am
