  • Jackson Holliday homers Thursday at Triple-A
Orioles 2B/SS prospect Jackson Holliday went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Thursday for Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Holliday has made some subtle tweaks to his batting stance since returning to the minors and is batting .240/.424/.420 with two homers and two steals in 14 contests since the start of May for Triple-A Norfolk. More impressively, he’s drawn 16 walks and only struck out 15 times during that span. The precocious 20-year-old top prospect is going to get another chance in the majors at some point, but it doesn’t sound like the Orioles are going to rush him back. It’s extremely encouraging that he’s making adjustments and showing improvement right now. Rotoworld Today, 4:56 pm
  • Struggles in rookie ball start
Medina (knee) began a rehab assignment Wednesday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and was charged with six earned runs on six hits and zero walks while striking out three over two innings.

Advice: Though Medina didn't issue a walk in the first start of his rehab assignment, he didn't necessarily exhibit strong control, as he tossed two wild pitches and hit one of the 13 batters he faced. Some rustiness was to be expected from Medina, who hadn't pitched in a competitive setting since his March 4 Cactus League start before he went down with a Grade 2 MCL sprain of his right knee. He'll likely need three or four rehab starts to get fully stretched out, so he shouldn't be viewed as a realistic candidate to return from the 60-day injured list and join the Oakland rotation until around early-to-mid June. • Return imminent
Heyward (back) rejoined the Dodgers on Thursday but was not activated from the injured list, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Heyward began a rehab assignment Tuesday and appeared in two games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, during which he went 0-for-6. Manager Dave Roberts said Heyward is ready to return soon, so it's likely he'll be activated at some point during the Dodgers' weekend series against the Reds. Rotowire.com Today, 4:18 pm
  • Back in minors
The Dodgers optioned Salazar to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Salazar was recalled from Triple-A and made his season debut Wednesday, allowing one unearned run while striking out three batters and walking two across two innings. He'll now return to the minors in favor of Nick Ramirez, who was recalled in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 3:43 pm
  • Brought back up
The Dodgers recalled Ramirez from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Ramirez has allowed just one run across seven big-league innings this season, and he has thrown 5.2 shutout frames in Triple-A since being sent down in late April. The 34-year-old southpaw will likely serve in middle relief while with the Dodgers, and Eduardo Salazar will head back to Oklahoma City in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 3:40 pm
  • Emmet Sheehan undergoes Tommy John surgery
Emmet Sheehan underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery earlier this week.

Advice: The writing was seemingly on the wall after Sheehan was shut down from throwing indefinitely a couple weeks ago due to right forearm inflammation. The 24-year-old right-hander showed some immense promise last year as a rookie before landing on the shelf back in spring training with an ominous arm injury. There should be some clarity on his return timetable at some point in the near future, but it’s obviously a significant development for his fantasy appeal in dynasty leagues. Rotoworld Today, 3:33 pm
  • Andy Pages not in Thursday’s lineup vs. Reds
Andy Pages is not in the lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the Reds.

Advice: Pages will get a night off to reset mentally after going 0-for-9 with six strikeouts over his last two games against the Giants. The 23-year-old rookie has gotten off to a nice start for the Dodgers through 26 games, but is starting to hit his first real rough patch. It’ll be interesting to see how he responds. • Guardians activate Sam Hentges for Friday return
Guardians activated LHP Sam Hentges from the paternity list.

Advice: Hentges will be back in Cleveland’s bullpen for Friday’s series opener against the Twins. The 27-year-old lefty has made three scoreless appearances since returning from the injured list following a five-weeks absence due to left middle finger inflammation. Rotoworld Today, 3:19 pm
  • Jonathan India (migraine) out Thursday vs. Dodgers
Jonathan India (migraine) remains absent from the lineup for Thursday’s contest against the Dodgers.

Advice: India will miss his second straight contest after being scratched from Wednesday’s lineup due to a migraine. It’ll be Santiago Espinal making another start at the keystone in his absence. Rotoworld Today, 3:16 pm
