  • Fires second straight quality start
    Gore allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 6.1 innings in a no-decision against Philadelphia on Saturday.

    Advice: Gore carried a one-run lead into the seventh inning but was pulled after Bryson Stott tagged him for a one-out, game-tying solo homer. Despite that disappointing exit, this was a positive overall outing for the lefty hurler, and he's now fired back-to-back quality starts for the first time this season. Gore didn't have the strikeout stuff Saturday that he had his previous time out, when he fanned nine Red Sox batters over six frames, but Gore did established a season-high mark with his 6.1 frames. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled to come at home against Seattle. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago
  • Hurls quality start Saturday
    Sanchez allowed two runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out eight batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Washington on Saturday.

    Advice: Sanchez fell behind when he gave up a first-inning run, but he allowed only one more score the rest of the way. The left-hander fanned eight batters -- his highest mark over his past five outings -- and finished with his fourth quality start of the campaign. Sanchez has been a solid fifth starter for the Phillies this season, registering a 3.31 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 47:18 K:BB over 49 innings. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
  • Jack Flaherty earns first victory of 2024 season
    Jack Flaherty picked up his first victory of the 2024 season on Saturday night, limiting the Diamondbacks to two runs on five hits over six strong frames.

    Advice: The right-hander piled up nine strikeouts on the evening while issuing a pair of free passes. He exited after six innings with the Tigers trailing 2-0, but luckily for him they rallied to score six times with two outs in the seventh inning to put him in line for the win. Flaherty got 17 swings and misses on 98 pitches in the contest — 10 on his slider — while posting a terrific CSW of 36 percent. Now 1-3 on the season, he’ll tote a 3.79 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and an impressive 72/8 K/BB ratio (54 2/3 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago
  • Zac Gallen strikes out 10 in loss to Tigers
    Zac Gallen pitched well in a losing effort against the Tigers on Saturday night, racking up 10 strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings of three-run baseball.

    Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander scattered seven hits on the night and didn’t allow a base on balls. He had kept the Tigers off the board completely through the first six innings, but the wheels fell off in the seventh. After allowing a leadoff double to Gio Urshela, he struck out the next two hitters before allowing an RBI double to Javier Báez and an RBI single to Carson Kelly before turning the ball over to the bullpen — who would allow the inherited runner to score as well. Gallen generated a whopping 20 swings and misses in the ballgame — 12 of those on his knuckle curve — while posting an elite CSW of 40 percent. He’ll bring a 3.02 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and a 55/14 K/BB ratio (50 2/3 innings) into Friday’s showdown against the Marlins. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago
  • José Ureña gives up one run against Angels
    José Ureña went six innings while allowing just a run against the Angels on Saturday.

    Advice: Ureña has more than held his own as a starter thus far for the Rangers, and while he hasn’t exactly faced the cream of the crop, he’s yet to allow more than two runs in his three starts. The right-hander walked one, struck out three and allowed just four hits, but didn’t qualify for a decision with Patrick Sandoval equalling his one-run effort.   • Patrick Sandoval goes six strong against Rangers
    Patrick Sandoval allowed just a run over six innings while not factoring into the decision Saturday against the Rangers.

    Advice: Sandoval did walk three and threw just 56-of-99 pitches for strikes, but he also allowed only three hits while picking up five strikeouts. It’s the second time in three starts that the southpaw has allowed no more than a run, and it’s helped lower what was a 6.75 ERA on April 20 to 4.85. He’ll have a chance to lower it again Friday against Cleveland. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago
  • Dazzles in return from injured list
    Rodriguez didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Mariners, yielding just one hit and three walks over six shutout innings. He recorded seven strikeouts.

    Advice: Rodriguez missed a little more than two weeks with right shoulder inflammation and made his return Saturday without going out on a rehab assignment first. He certainly showed that he didn't need one, as didn't give up his first and only hit on the night until there was one out in the sixth inning (and even that was just an infield single). Rodriguez was limited to just 82 pitches in his first start back, but he still managed to complete six frames because he was so efficient. The righty displayed his normal velocity and induced 13 swinging strikes on his 82 pitches. Rodriguez missed out on a win after the Orioles' bullpen struggled, but he looked as good as his fantasy managers could have hoped for. Rotowire.com Today, 7:16 pm
  • Mikolas allows one over five in start vs. Red Sox
    Miles Mikolas only allowed one run over five innings against the Red Sox on Saturday, but he didn’t factor into the decision.

    Advice: Mikolas allowed just two hits in the start, with one of those being a homer to Rafael Devers. The right-hander also walked one and struck out four in one of his best outings of the 2024 campaign. That’s a bit of faint praise considering he came into this start with a 6.19 ERA, but, it is what it is. The Cubs are next for Mikolas. Rotoworld Today, 7:08 pm
  • Kutter Crawford allows one run in no-decision
    Kutter Crawford only allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Cardinals on Saturday.

    Advice: Crawford pitched well, but so did his pitching counterpart Miles Mikolas, so there’s no W for the 28-year-old. Crawford bounced back nicely from a shaky start against the Ray on Monday, and in the process he lowers his ERA to a strong 2.17. There was reason to believe Crawford could help fantasy rosters, but no one could have seen this coming. Rotoworld Today, 7:08 pm
