    • Steals first base of 2024
Bellinger went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-6 loss to the Brewers. He also stole a base.

Advice: The stolen base was notable because it's the first of the season for Bellinger, though he did miss some time with a fractured ribcage, which could have cut into his running. He had a career-high 20 steals last year as he reached the 20-20 plateau for the first time in seven MLB campaigns. Bellinger hasn't been quite as effective so far in 2024, though he's batting a solid .262 with a .774 OPS, and the 28-year-old has the talent to start racking up the counting stats in a hurry. • X-rays negative
X-rays on Alonso's right hand came back negative Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Mets won't be able to confirm whether or not Alonso avoided a fracture until the results of his CT scan come back Thursday, but a clean X-ray is certainly an encouraging sign. The 29-year-old remains day-to-day after getting hit in the hand by a 93-mph fastball during Wednesday's contest. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:02 pm

    • Undergoing imaging
Alonso will undergo imaging on his right hand after being hit by a pitch Wednesday against the Dodgers, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.

Advice: The 29-year-old was struck by a 93-mph fastball in the first inning, and it's no surprise he's being sent for testing. Alonso should be considered day-to-day until more information is available Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:37 pm

    • Spencer Steer goes 0-for-4 against Cardinals
Spencer Steer went 0-for-4 in Wednesday’s loss to the Cardinals, dropping his average to .221.

Advice: Steer is hitting .190/.304/.354 this month. His exit velocity numbers and xBA/xSLG stats are all pretty much the same as last year, so it seems likely that he’ll rebound, hopefully in short order. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:40 pm

    • Exits after HBP on hand
Alonso was removed from Wednesday's game against the Dodgers after being hit on the right hand by a pitch in the first inning, David Lennon of Newsday reports.

Advice: A 93 mile-per-hour four-seamer struck Alonso, and he was lifted for a pinch runner after taking his base. The big first baseman is surely headed for X-rays, with an update on his condition from the Mets likely to come later Wednesday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:32 pm

    • Bellinger has two-hit game Monday
Cody Bellinger went 2-for-4 against the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: It was a quiet day for the Cubs offense as they could only muster one run. Bellinger, however, has been hot at the plate since a slow start early this season. He’s 31-for-104 (.298) since April 13th.

    • Homers again Saturday
Steer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: He touched up Walker Buehler in the first inning to give the Reds an early lead. As Mark Sheldon of MLB.com notes, Steer has now gone deep in back-to-back games after entering the series without a homer since May 1 (17 games). His struggles from the middle of the order this month have led the Reds to the cellar in the NL Central, though it's certainly not all his fault. Steer sits with a .227/.341/.403 line with six homers, 35 RBI, 25 runs scored and 11 steals through 50 games this season. Rotowire.com May 26, 1:50 am

    • Spencer Steer homers again as Reds top Dodgers
Spencer Steer homered for the second consecutive game on Saturday, helping to power the Reds to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Dodgers.

Advice: Steer got the scoring started in the opening inning on Saturday, crushing a 362-foot (94.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Walker Buehler. That would wind up being his only hit in four at-bats on the night. On the season, the versatile 26-year-old is slashing .227/.341/.403 with six long balls and 35 RBI. Rotoworld May 25, 6:57 pm

    • Knocks fifth home run
Steer went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, a walk and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Steer got the Reds' offense started with a three-run blast in the first inning. He snapped a 17-game homerless drought, during which he'd posted an unsightly .527 OPS. Despite a terrific start to 2024 (1.264 OPS through 11 games), Steer now owns a .227/.343/.390 slash line with 17 extra-base hits through 204 plate appearances. Rotowire.com May 24, 8:06 pm
