    • Mason Miller silences Pirates in non-save spot
Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday in a non-save situation against the Pirates.

Advice: Miller got the call to protect a four-run lead in the final frame after needing 16 pitches to close out Tuesday’s victory less than 24 hours ago. He got Jack Suwinski to ground out and fanned Henry Davis before coaxing a game-ending ground out from Ke’Bryan Hayes. He averaged 100.8 mph on his fastball and needed just 10 pitches to spin a perfect frame. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty has reeled off 12 consecutive scoreless appearances since April 2, and has converted eight saves to go along with a microscopic 1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 29/4 K/BB ratio across 14 1/3 innings of work. Simply put, he’s one of the best relievers in baseball already. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

    • Getting MRI on knee
Buxton will receive an MRI on his right knee after being removed from Wednesday's game versus the White Sox, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Advice: Buxton hurt his knee while attempting to steal a base during the second inning of Wednesday's victory. The Twins didn't have an update on his status immediately after the game, but manager Rocco Baldelli said Buxton would receive an MRI and that the team would use its day off Thursday to assess the situation. A clearer picture regarding the 30-year-old's return timeline will likely come prior to Friday's game against Boston. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago

Byron Buxton will undergo an MRI exam on his injured right knee after leaving Wednesday’s game against the White Sox.

Advice: Buxton pulled up on a stolen base attempt during the game and had to be helped off the field. It looks likely that the oft-injured outfielder is heading to the injured list once again, but the Twins will wait and see what the imaging shows before addressing the situation publicly. The injury is to the same knee in which he underwent surgery twice, with the most recent operation occurring last October. It's not clear at this point how big of a setback Buxton might be dealing with, but the Twins could offer more detail on his condition after the game. Rotowire.com Today, 12:44 pm
