    • Swats homer in defeat
Pillar went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's loss to the Astros.

Advice: Pillar took Bryan Abreu deep in the seventh to put the Angels back up 5-4 and extend his hitting streak to eight games. He's been on an absolute tear since signing with the Angels on April 30. In the month of May, Pillar is slashing .426/.460/.766 with four homers, 17 RBI, 12 runs and a 2:9 BB:K through 14 games. Prior to his release from the White Sox on April 26, the 35-year-old was slashing just .160/.290/.360 with a homer, four RBI, a run scored and a 4:8 BB:K through 17 games. Rotowire.com Today, 3:59 am

    • Punches out seven
Littell didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Boston, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk across 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Littell fared better against the Red Sox the second time around, holding them to three hits Tuesday after yielding seven hits and four runs to Boston in his last start. Though the 28-year-old did surrender a solo homer to Jarren Duran, he tied his season high in strikeouts and fewer than two batters for the sixth time in his last seven starts. Littell hasn't gone deeper than six innings this season but owns a 3.42 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP across 10 appearances. He's scheduled for a home start against the Athletics next Tuesday. • Zack Littell strikes out seven in loss to Red Sox
Zack Littell allowed two earned runs over 5 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Littell was pulled with two outs in the sixth inning, which came after a solo homer by Jarren Durran. The veteran righty was solid for much of the afternoon, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters. Littell wasn’t in line for the win after leaving with the game tied but he will have a chance to earn his third win of the season in his next start on Tuesday against the Athletics. • X-rays negative
X-rays on Fraley's right hand came back negative Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Fraley is reportedly dealing with swelling after taking a pitch off his hand during the first inning of Tuesday's contest, but he seems to have avoided a serious injury. The Reds will re-evaluate his hand Wednesday, but it's likely the 28-year-old outfielder sits out a game or two in order to recover. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:28 pm

    • X-rays negative on Jake Fraley’s right hand
X-rays came back negative on Jake Fraley’s right hand.

Advice: The positive news here is that Fraley didn’t suffer a fracture when he was hit by a pitch on the right hand during Tuesday’s game against the Padres. The 28-year-old is dealing with some inflammation and will be re-evaluated on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:25 pm

    • Jake Fraley exits Tuesday following hit by pitch
Jake Fraley was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Padres after being hit by a pitch.

Advice: Fraley was hit by a pitch on the right wrist area in the opening frame and wound up leaving the contest shortly afterwards. He’s presumably headed for X-rays to determine the severity of the injury. There should be an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:23 pm

    • Leaves Tuesday with hand injury
Fraley left Tuesday night's game against the Padres after getting hit by a pitch on the hand in the first inning.

Advice: Fraley ran the bases after the HBP but then retreated to the clubhouse at the end of the inning. Stuart Fairchild replaced Fraley in the game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:09 pm

    • Gerrit Cole (elbow) not ruling out June return
Gerrit Cole (elbow) faced hitters on Tuesday in a 22-pitch live batting practice session.

Advice: Cole told reporters afterwards that he came out of facing hitters for the first time since landing on the injured list back in spring training without any issues. The 33-year-old fantasy ace added that he wouldn’t rule out a potential return at some point next month. He’ll presumably face hitters a couple more times before heading out for a handful of minor league rehab starts to build up his pitch count and stamina. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm

    • Could return in June
Cole (elbow) faced live hitters Tuesday and will throw another live session this weekend, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Cole faced hitters for the first time since being shut down with elbow inflammation. He threw about 20 pitches in what's expected to be the first of two or three total live sessions. Cole will be eligible to return from the 60-day injured list before the end of May, but he'll require a multi-start rehab assignment and is still at least a few weeks away from making his season debut, likely at some point in June.
