    • Severino allows one in no-decision Thursday
Luis Severino allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Mets’ 3-2 victory over the Marlins on Thursday.

Advice: Severino gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out two. He’s allowed only one run in three of his last four starts. Severino’s two strikeouts were a season-low for him. His ERA is now 3.12 on the season. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rangers on the road next week.

    • Hit with first loss
Miller (1-1) took the loss Wednesday, giving up a solo home run in one-third of an inning as the A's fell 5-4 to the Padres.

Advice: With one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Jackson Merrill drove the first pitch he saw from Miller down the right-field line for a walk-off homer. The Oakland closer may be wearing down -- over his last eight appearances he's served up three long balls and been scored upon four times, leading to a 5.59 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB through 9.2 innings during that stretch. • Mason Miller serves up walk-off homer to Padres
Mason Miller allowed one run in the ninth inning on Wednesday and was saddled with a loss against the Padres.

Advice: Miller was called upon in a tie ballgame and wound up surrendering a walk-off solo shot to Padres rookie Jackson Merrill. It was just his first loss of the year and second run he’s allowed in four relief appearances this month. The flame-throwing 25-year-old righty has been one of the best high-leverage relievers in baseball and this looks like just a momentary hiccup in an otherwise stellar breakthrough campaign. • Strong again Tuesday
Kikuchi (4-5) allowed three hits and four walks while striking out five over five shutout innings to earn the win over the Brewers on Tuesday.

Advice: Kikuchi's four walks ran up his pitch count quickly, but it was an otherwise strong performance. This was just the second time in his last 11 outings that he's walked multiple batters. The southpaw has won his last two starts and now has a 3.26 ERA on the year with a 1.23 WHIP and 76:19 K:BB through 77.1 innings over 14 starts. Kikuchi's next start is projected to be at home versus the Red Sox. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:10 pm

    • Yusei Kikuchi blanks Brewers, whiffs five in win
Yusei Kikuchi struck out five over five shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Kikuchi also walked four batters and needed 97 pitches to get through his five frames, but he kept the Brewers off the board, and has now allowed one earned run in his last 11 innings of work. Despite a 4-5 record, Kikuchi is now sitting on a 3.26 ERA and has allowed three earned runs or fewer in all but three of his starts. He’ll look to pick up his fifth win on Monday against the Red Sox. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:01 pm

    • Hitting IL with neck strain
Brown will be placed on the injured list with a left neck strain, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Brown has been dealing with the strain over the last few weeks and will head back to Chicago to undergo more testing. The severity of the injury is unclear but we should learn more in the coming days. Jordan Wicks is the primary candidate to take Brown's spot in the rotation, while Colten Brewer (back) should join the bullpen after being reinstated from the 15-day IL. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 2:10 pm

    • Cubs place Ben Brown on 15-day IL with neck strain
Cubs placed RHP Ben Brown on the 15-day injured list with a neck strain.

Advice: Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network adds Brown has been battling the neck issue for the last few weeks and has been sent back to Chicago to undergo additional testing to determine the severity of the issue. There should be some clarity on his status at some point later this week. The 24-year-old righty has been a bright spot this season for the Cubs with a stellar 3.58 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 64/19 K/BB ratio across 55 1/3 innings (15 appearances, eight starts) so far. • Yields one run in quality start
Harrison allowed one run on four hits and no walks while striking out three batters over 6.1 innings in a no-decision against Houston on Monday.

Advice: Harrison had just nine whiffs and three punchouts in the outing, but he kept the Astros off the scoreboard until the seventh frame. The left-handed hurler finished with his second straight quality start and allowed fewer than three runs for the first time since May 7. Harrison hasn't given up more than four earned runs in any of his 14 starts this season, though, helping him maintain a respectable 3.96 ERA despite a mediocre 1.33 WHIP and 68:22 K:BB across 77.1 innings. • Kyle Harrison strong for six against Astros
Kyle Harrison surrendered one run over six innings Monday in a no-decision against the Astros.

Advice: Harrison went without walking a batter for the second straight outing tonight and lowered his ERA to 3.96. There isn’t much mixed-league value here yet, but he’ll get there eventually if he continues to lower his walk rate. Rotoworld Monday, 11:05 pm
