The right-hander notched his fifth straight quality start and lowered his season ERA to 1.69, fifth lowest among qualified MLB pitchers.       Advice: There was a rain delay before the game and more inclement weather during the contest, but Suarez seemed undaunted as he became the first six-game winner in baseball (Tyler Glasnow joined him later Saturday). It speaks as to how well Suarez has pitched this season that this was easily his worst start since his first outing of the season when he allowed three runs in five innings. The three runs the left-hander gave up Saturday matched his total from his previous five starts. With a matchup versus the Marlins looming next week, Suarez has a good chance to keep rolling.       Logan Gilbert fired eight shutout innings on Saturday in a win over the Astros.

      Advice: Gilbert continued putting zeroes on the scoreboard against a loaded Astros lineup, needing just 96 pitches (60 strikes) to navigate eight dominant frames. The 27-year-old burgeoning fantasy ace finished with six strikeouts and only allowed six baserunners as Houston’s lineup mustered just five batted balls with an exit velocity over 95 mph. He’s allowed two earned runs or fewer in six of his seven starts so far this season.       Ranger Suárez gave up three runs over six innings on Saturday in a win over the Giants.

      Advice: Suárez was staked to a commanding nine-run advantage by the start of the third inning at a rain-soaked Citizens Bank Park, and wound up cruising to a relatively easy victory, gobbling up six frames before handing an 11-run lead over to Philadelphia’s bullpen. The 28-year-old southpaw isn’t overpowering, but he’s been extremely effective this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in seven consecutive starts. He’ll bring a sparkling 1.72 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 46/6 K/BB ratio across 47 innings (seven starts) into a road tilt next Saturday against the free-falling Marlins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:15 pm

      Gray (4-1) allowed three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Gray allowed just one extra-base hit and retired the final eight batters he faced. He's been excellent since returning from a brief stint on the injured list to begin the year; Gray has given up three earned runs through 30.1 innings while producing a 38:5 K:BB.       Advice: Both of the Giants' runs came in the second inning on a Thairo Estrada double, though the damage certainly could've been a lot worse -- Nola needed 46 pitches to get through the frame, issuing four walks. The right-hander was ultimately pulled after throwing 89 pitches. Nola, who'd gone eight innings in each of his previous two starts, is 4-1 on the season with a 3.32 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 40:15 K:BB across seven outings (43.1 innings).     • Aaron Nola pulled after four versus Giants
      Aaron Nola was lifted after allowing two runs and walking four in four innings Friday against the Giants.

      Advice: A really odd start for Nola, who pretty much always lasts five innings unless he’s truly bad or hurt. Tonight, though, he walked four for the second time this season — he did that just once between 2022 and ’23 — and the Phillies didn’t think it was worth sending him back out for the fifth at 89 pitches. They were probably right, too, as the bullpen went on to allowing one run over five innings in a 4-3 win. Nola’s velocity is down, and he’s struggled to generate as many missed swings as usual. The hope is that he’ll get stronger, and he probably deserves the benefit of the doubt, given his history.       Sonny Gray didn’t allow a run over seven innings with six strikeouts to help the Cardinals to a 3-0 victory over the White Sox on Saturday.

      Advice: Gray was outstanding against a White Sox lineup that shouldn’t be legal. The right-hander gave up just three hits over those seven frames, and he issued one walk while throwing 65-of-94 pitches for strikes. Over his last two starts, Gray has allowed just a single earned run while striking out 15 over 13 innings. That’ll work. He’ll face the Mets next week. Rotoworld Friday, 7:45 pm
