    • Start moved to Thursday
      Manager Craig Counsell said Tuesday that Imanaga's next start will be moved back from Wednesday to Thursday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

      Advice: The Cubs will give Imanaga an extra day to rest after he was lit up for 10 earned runs in just three innings during his last start. Despite his awful performance Friday, the 30-year-old southpaw has still been strong overall with a 2.96 ERA and 1.10 WHIP alongside an 81:12 K:BB through 79 innings over 14 starts.     • Yet to resume throwing
      Astros manager Joe Espada said Tuesday that Verlander (neck) has yet to resume throwing, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Verlander has been shut down for more than a week with neck discomfort and continues to progress more slowly than expected. The veteran right-hander is eligible for activation from the 15-day injured list Monday, but it's too early at this point to know whether he will be ready to go on that day.     • Justin Verlander (neck) still not ready to throw
      Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters Tuesday that Justin Verlander (neck) is still making slower progress than anticipated.

      Advice: Espada reiterated that this issue isn’t a shoulder, elbow or arm problem; but strictly issues with neck stiffness. The 41-year-old has been on the injured list since the middle of June with the issue, and at this point, it seems unlikely that we see Verlander back until the middle of July — possibly after the All-Star break.     • Blake Snell (groin) to make second rehab start
      Blake Snell, combing back from a groin strain, will make another rehab start for Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.

    • Next rehab start coming Friday
      Snell (groin) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday and make another rehab start for Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

      Advice: Snell showed signs of rust during his first rehab appearance with Sacramento on Sunday, and as expected, he'll make at least one more start in the minors before the club considers activating him from the 15-day injured list.     • Yu Darvish has sore elbow, won’t return Tuesday
      Yu Darvish is dealing with elbow inflammation will not return to the Padres rotation on Tuesday.

      Advice: This is a new problem for Darvish, who has been out since June 1 with a strained groin, but the Padres are hopeful it’ll be only a minor setback. Adam Mazur will take his place Tuesday against the Nationals. Rotoworld Monday, 3:58 pm

    • Dealing with elbow inflammation
      Padres manager Mike Shildt said Monday that Darvish (groin) won't be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday versus the Nationals due to "a little" right elbow inflammation, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Darvish had been slated to return from close to a month-long absence with a groin injury, but it's an elbow issue that will delay his activation even further. Shildt's wording would seem to suggest that Darvish is dealing with a minor setback, but a return to the rotation next week isn't guaranteed, especially after Darvish missed the final month of last season with a bone spur in the elbow.     • Yu Darvish may not return this week
      According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Tribune, Yu Darvish (groin) did not throw his scheduled pre-start bullpen session, “and his status is up in the air.”

      Advice: Padres manager Mike Shildt said, “We’re going to see what it looks like and have something for you [Monday].” The issue is apparently not related to the groin issue that has kept Darvish out since May 29th but without any information on what actually did keep Darvish from throwing, it’s impossible to say if it’s good news or bad news that it’s not related to his groin. We’ll keep locked to the news coming out of San Diego, but fantasy managers in weekly lineup lock leagues may want to err on the side of caution and keep Darvish out of starting lineups this week.     • Chased in fifth inning
      Assad (4-3) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout over 4.1 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Mets.

      Advice: Assad has failed to complete five innings in four of his last nine starts. The Mets did most of their damage in the third inning, as Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo hit back-to-back home runs to account for three of the four runs on Assad's line. The right-hander is now at a 3.04 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 79:33 K:BB through 83 innings across 16 starts this year. He's projected for a road game in Milwaukee in his next start.
