      Advice: McMahon got the Rockies on the board with an RBI single in the first inning before driving in a second run with a double in the 10th. The 29-year-old McMahon now has hits in six straight games, going 8-for-23 with two doubles and two home runs in that span, on the heels of a 1-for-14 stretch.     • Timely hit in Tuesday's win
      Machado went 1-for-5 with a three-run double in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Reds.

      Advice: Machado stepped up to the plate in the fifth with the bases juiced and cleared them all with a double to center field. That was his first extra-base hit since April 14 and his first multi-RBI game since April 12. He's tallied a hit in four of his five games since being reinstated from the paternity list and is now slashing .250/.304/.388 with four homers, 16 RBI, 16 runs and a 9:29 BB:K in 125 plate appearances.     • Stuck with loss Tuesday
      Lopez (2-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Mariners, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings.

      Advice: Lopez struck out the side to begin his night en route to tying his season-high in strikeouts. He pitched well overall, but there was not much he could do with Atlanta not scoring until the eighth inning. His one costly mistake came in the third after allowing a two-run blast to Jorge Polanco and the Mariners would tack on a third run in the fourth, which proved to be the deciding run in the game. Tuesday was the first time Lopez had failed to pitch at least six innings and surrender more than a run. He's now given up a home run in back-to-back outings. Still, the 30-year-old has been nothing short of spectacular through the first month, posting a 1.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB in 30 innings.       Gore (2-3) was hit with the loss Tuesday versus Texas after giving up two earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out seven batters across five innings.

      Advice: Gore managed to keep the Rangers off the scoreboard for the first three innings, but an RBI single from Jonah Heim in the fourth followed by a fielder's choice in the fifth was all it took for Texas to take the lead over Washington and hand Gore his third consecutive loss. Despite his record, the 25-year-old lefty still owns a 3.19 ERA and 1.35 WHIP on the year and has struck out at least six batters in four of his six starts.     • Collects five hits in twin bill
      Goldschmidt went 5-for-9 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's doubleheader split versus the Tigers.

      Advice: Goldschmidt had not collected five hits over any two-game span this season prior to Tuesday. Even with the strong performance, the first baseman is slashing a mediocre .236/.323/.318 with two home runs, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored, three doubles and a stolen base over 29 contests. Goldschmidt has yet to lose playing time amid his slow start, but that could change once the Cardinals get players like Dylan Carlson (shoulder), Tommy Edman (wrist) and Matt Carpenter (oblique) back from the injured list. On the positive side, Goldschmidt has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, so he may be turning things around enough to maintain his place in the lineup. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:39 pm
       
    • Carlos Estévez gives up two homers in taking loss
      Carlos Estévez took his second blown save and a loss after giving up three runs and two homers in the ninth Tuesday against the Mariners.

      Advice: The good news for Estévez is that, with Robert Stephenson out for the year and José Soriano in the rotation, he has no competition at the moment. Still, his stuff is definitely down from last year, and he hasn’t shown much improvement there from the beginning of the spring. It’s unlikely that he’ll be replaced right away, but Soriano might eventually supplant him if Chase Silseth rejoins the rotation. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:34 pm
       
    • Reynaldo López allows three over five in loss
      Reynaldo López allowed three runs in five innings while picking up a loss Tuesday to the Mariners.

      Advice: López allowed six hits over those five frames, and he struck out seven while walking three with Josh Rojas getting all three free passes. The 30-year-old pitched better than his line suggested, but a two-run homer by Jorge Polanco turned an excellent outing into a shaky one from a fantasy perspective. Lopez still has an excellent 1.50 ERA, and he should be in fantasy lineups against Boston next week. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:47 pm
       
    • Has nightmare ninth
      Estevez (0-1) blew the save and took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on three hits with two strikeouts over two-thirds of an inning against Philadelphia.

      Advice: Each of the three hits against Estevez went for extra bases, with Nick Castellanos hitting a solo homer and Johan Rojas bringing in Bryson Stott -- who reached on a ground-rule double -- on a two-run homer to give the Phillies the lead. Estevez has now surrendered one or more runs in three of his last four appearances, a stretch that ballooned his ERA from 0.00 to 6.23 and resulted in a pair of blown saves. While his closing job seems to be safe for now, Matt Moore and Luis Garcia would be the names to know if Estevez begins to cede ninth-inning work. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:22 pm
