      Seager was hit in the left wrist by a pitch in the fifth inning and immediately exited the game, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Seager was in visible pain after being hit in the wrist area and walked straight back to the dugout. Davis Wendzel entered to run for Seager.       Corey Seager was removed from Saturday’s game against the Orioles after being hit by a pitch on his left hand in the fifth inning.

      Advice: On the seventh pitch of his at-bat in the fifth inning, Cade Povich tried to come inside with a 90.5 mph sinker and clipped Seager near his left hand/wrist. Seager immediately retreated to the clubhouse, didn’t make any attempt to stay in the game. He’ll head for X-rays to see if there’s any structural damage.       Advice: Kiner-Falefa singled and scored in the first inning and added another base hit in the fifth. He smacked an RBI single and scored in the sixth frame and then finished his huge day by doubling and scoring again in the eighth. The 29-year-old has put together a 13-game hit streak and seen his season average climb from .263 to .296.     • Jackson Merrill homers and doubles in blowout win
      Jackson Merrill went 3-for-5 with a homer, double and two RBI in a blowout win Saturday over the Red Sox.

      Advice: Merrill continues to impress in his rookie campaign, and his slash after the three-hit game is now a healthy .288/.322/.456. The 21-year-old outfielder swatted a solo homer off Tanner Houck — one of three homers for the Padres off Houck on Saturday — and he drove in a run with a single for good measure.       CJ Abrams went 2-for-3 with a double, a solo home run, a walk and two RBI against the Rays on Saturday.



      Advice: Abrams’ home run was his 13th of the season. He started the game with a home run off Aaron Civale in the first inning. Abrams is hitting .282 with an .852 OPS and 42 RBI on the season.

      Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 4-for-5 with a double, three runs scored, and one RBI against the Yankees on Saturday.

      Advice: Kiner-Falefa had an excellent day at the plate, collecting four hits against the Yankees while cross home plate three time and driving in one run.     • CJ Abrams in Saturday’s lineup after HBP on Friday
      CJ Abrams (wrist) is in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Rays.

      Advice: Abrams is back at shortstop and leading off on Saturday after being hit by a pitch twice during Friday’s game -- first on his right arm by an 89 mph cutter in the first inning and then on his left wrist by an 88 mph offering a couple frames later. The positive news here is that X-rays came back negative and the issue didn’t seem to impact the cyst that he’s been dealing with near that left wrist.       Witt went 1-for-3 with two walks, one stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Guardians.

      Advice: Witt previously went 10 games without a steal and hit just .184 (7-for-38) in that span. While that's a rare cold stretch for the shortstop, he salvaged it by knocking five extra-base hits in that period.       Schuemann went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one stolen base in Friday's 9-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Schuemann supplied a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning and an RBI single in the eighth. The 27-year-old has gone 21 games without a multi-hit effort since his 4-for-4 performance in Atlanta on June 1.
