    • Gets second win Tuesday
Erceg (2-2) got the win against the Rockies on Tuesday, firing a perfect eighth inning.

Advice: Erceg's blink-and-you-missed-it frame was done in a tidy 11 pitches, seven which he located for strikes. The 29-year-old right-hander has had a couple of hiccups along the way, but he sports a pair of saves and seven holds alongside his two wins. Erceg, who's now averaging 98.6 mph on his fastball this season, has the stuff to form a gnarly 1-2 punch with dominant closer Mason Miller in the late innings, and he lowered his ERA and WHIP back to 3.32 and 1.05, respectively, with what was his third scoreless effort in the last four appearances. • Rings up ninth save
Miller recorded his ninth save in Tuesday's win over the Rockies, striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Miller mowed through the trio of Jordan Beck, Charlie Blackmon and Ezequiel Tovar on 16 pitches, retiring each on swinging strikes to close out the one-run win. It was Miller's first save opportunity since April 30, as well as his 15th straight scoreless appearance. The flamethrowing right-hander hasn't allowed so much as a single since April 25 as well, and his trio of strikeouts Tuesday pushed his K/9 and swinging strikeout rate figures to an astounding 18.1 and 23.7 percent, respectively, across 20.1 innings. • Gets minor-league deal from Texas
The Rangers signed Crismatt to a minor-league contract Wednesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Crismatt elected free agency after declining an outright assignment by the Dodgers last week, and he's now found a new home. The right-hander holds a 2.57 ERA and 6:0 K:BB over seven innings in the majors this season and will be assigned to Triple-A Round Rock. Rotowire.com Today, 7:57 am
    • Rangers add Nabil Crismatt on minor league deal
Rangers signed RHP Nabil Crismatt to a minor league contract.

Advice: Crismatt had a 2.57 ERA over seven innings in two stints with the Dodgers this season. He’ll probably join the Rangers as a middle reliever at some point within the next few weeks. Rotoworld Today, 7:57 am
    • Nabs win in 10th
Bednar (3-3) picked up the win Tuesday, striking out one in a perfect 10th inning during a 7-6 victory over the Giants.

Advice: After the Pirates rallied for four runs in the ninth, Bednar got the call for the top of the 10th and set down three straight pinch hitters in Mike Yastrzemski, LaMonte Wade and Patrick Bailey. The right-hander then got rewarded when Nick Gonzalez walked it off by singling on the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the frame. Bednar has turned things around following a bumpy first month of the season, and over 10 appearances in May he's posted a 2.89 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB through 9.1 innings while converting all five of his save chances and chipping in two wins. • Shaky in no-decision
Perez came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Giants, giving up four runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: The veteran southpaw threw only 56 of 98 pitches for strikes, but an Oneil Cruz error in the first inning helped soften the blow to Perez's ERA. He's completed six innings only once in his last seven starts, posting a 6.37 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 29:12 K:BB through 35.1 innings over that stretch, but Pittsburgh doesn't have many healthy alternatives for its rotation right now. Perez will try to turn things around in his next outing, which lines up to come at home this weekend against Atlanta. Rotowire.com Today, 7:42 am

    • Blows first save
Doval gave up two unearned runs on two hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning Tuesday to blow his first save of the season in a 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Pirates. He struck out one.

Advice: The Giants rolled into the ninth inning with a 6-2 lead, but after Luke Jackson put two runners aboard with one out, Doval got the call and coaxed a potential double-play grounder from Andrew McCutchen, only for Marco Luciano to boot it and pave the way for a Pirates rally. Doval's control has taken a step backward this season, as he has a 15.7 percent walk rate compared to a 9.3 percent mark in 2023, but he still carries a 2.89 ERA to go with his 1.45 WHIP, 25:13 K:BB through 18.2 innings and eight saves. • Awarded second start
Spence is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Rockies in Oakland.

Advice: He'll be making his second straight turn through Oakland's injury-depleted rotation. After working mostly as a long reliever for the first seven weeks of the season, Spence was already fairly stretched out for his first MLB start last Friday in Kansas City. He tossed 4.2 innings (77 pitches) and took a loss to the Royals while striking out four and giving up one earned run on five hits and one walk. The Athletics should give Spence a longer leash Wednesday if he pitches as efficiently against the Rockies as he did in his 4.2 innings in Kansas City. Rotowire.com Today, 7:29 am

    • Back in Triple-A
Maldonado was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.

Advice: In a weak and shallow Marlins farm system, Maldonado is one of the few fantasy-relevant prospects, albeit for deeper leagues. He had a 3.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, seven strikeouts and one save in 12 innings with the big club. Maldonado threw his mid-80s slider two-thirds of the time and his 93-mph fastball just over 30 percent of the time while in the majors. Rotowire.com Today, 7:26 am
