    • Earns fifth win
      Rodriguez (5-1) earned the win over the White Sox on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and five walks over five innings while striking out seven.

      Advice: Rodriguez ran into trouble out of the gate after surrendering a leadoff single to Tommy Pham to open the game. The right-hander would fail to retire four of the first six batters in the frame and even walked home the first run of the contest, but was able to escape without any further damage being done. His command issues would continue in the third when he issued a two-out walk and then hit Paul DeJong with a pitch in the following at-bat, eventually leading to Chicago's second run coming home on an Andrew Benintendi single. Rodriguez has now allowed just two runs over 11 innings since returning from the injured list, though his five walks Thursday marked a season high.       Guerrero went 2-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Tigers.

      Advice: Guerrero went hitless in his first three at-bats before sending Danny Jansen to third with a double in the top of the eighth, eventually leading to both runners coming home during a three-run inning for Toronto. The first baseman wasn't done there, however, adding a two-run homer in the following frame as the Blue Jays blew out the Tigers. It marked Guerrero's seventh multi-hit game this month, where he's now batting .371 with two homers, 13 RBI and 12 runs scored. The long ball was his first since May 5 against the Nationals.     • Rodriguez gets fifth win Thursday
      Grayson Rodriguez allowed two runs in five innings and picked up the win in the Orioles’ 8-6 win over the White Sox on Thursday.



      Advice: Rodriguez was a bit of a mixed bag in his second start since coming off the injured list. The win was his fifth of the season. Rodriguez struck out seven, but also allowed three hits and walked five. His ERA is 3.20 on the season now. The 24-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Red Sox at home next week.

    • Guerrero Jr. hits fifth home run Thursday
      Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and a two-run home run against the Tigers on Thursday.

      Advice: Guerrero Jr. scored on a Justin Turner double in the eighth inning and then homered in a 7-1 game in the ninth. The home run was his fifth of the season and he now has 24 RBI. Guerrero Jr. is up to .282 with a .799 OPS this year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:26 pm

      Kim went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two stolen bases in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Reds.

      Advice: Kim seemingly has a green light to run right now -- he's logged five steals over his last five games, going 5-for-15 with five walks in that span. The shortstop is up to 13 thefts on 14 attempts this season, putting him roughly on pace to match his total of 38 steals in 2023. Kim has added a .216/.335/.369 slash line with six home runs, 22 RBI, 25 runs scored, four doubles and two triples over 52 games, but his recent hitting suggests he may be turning things around.       Ha-Seong Kim stole two bases while going 1-for-3 with a walk against the Reds on Thursday.

      Advice: Kim was also thrown out stealing for the second time this season, but the pair of thefts do bring his season total to 13. That’s a solid number, obviously, but his .216/.335/.369 slash has left a lot to be desired.     • TJ Friedl hopes to take batting practice soon
      According to The Enquirer’s Charlie Goldsmith, TJ Friedl (broken thumb) “continues to progress” and hopes to take “batting practice soon.”

      Advice: TJ Friedl is back to hitting off flips as he works back from a broken thumb. Once he is able to take batting practice, his next step will likely be live at-bats and a rehab assignment.     • Tosses quality start for fourth win
      King (4-4) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks over 6.2 innings in a 7-3 victory over the Reds. He struck out six.

      Advice: The right-hander delivered his fifth quality start of the year, and his third in four May outings, on 92 pitches (62 strikes). King has had trouble maintaining consistency as he adjusts to being a full-time starting pitcher, but his 3.24 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 27:7 K:BB through 25 innings this month is encouraging.       Friedl (thumb) has progressed to hitting flipped balls in the batting cage and hopes to be cleared to take batting practice soon, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

      Advice: Friedl is making a rapid recovery from a fractured left thumb, an injury he suffered just 11 days ago. If the outfielder is able to take batting practice soon, a brief rehab assignment should follow shortly after. He would appear on track for an early June return from the 10-day injured list.
