    • Taj Bradley to make rehab start Sunday at Triple-A
      Taj Bradley (pectoral) will make a minor league rehab start on Sunday for Triple-A Durham.

      Advice: Bradley threw 62 pitches over four innings earlier this week in an extended spring training contest and will face Triple-A level hitters this weekend as he continues to work his way back from a mid-March right pectoral strain.     • Allows season-high five runs
      Peralta did not factor into the decision against the Pirates on Thursday, allowing five runs on five hits and five walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Peralta struggled with his command throughout the contest, allowing four of the first eight batters to reach base before going on to surrender a season-high five runs. The right-hander gave up three runs in the first inning alone and failed to make it through five frames for the first time this season.     • Picks up win in rainout
      Ragans (1-2) earned the win Thursday against the Blue Jays, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Ragan technically pitched a complete game Thursday, with the outing being called after five innings due to rain. Regardless of the shortened game, Ragans managed to bounce back from a horrific start against the Orioles on Apr. 20 and got in the win column for the first time this season. Outside of his start against Baltimore, Ragans owns a 1.91 ERA with 33 strikeouts across 28.1 innings pitched. He's tentatively scheduled for a rematch with the Blue Jays in Toronto early next week.     • Cole Ragans collects win in rain-shortened start
      Cole Ragans held the Blue Jays to one run over five innings to collect his first win of the season in a rain-shortened start.

      Advice: Ragans would have been able to go another inning or two if not for a nearly four-hour rain delay that eventually wound up ending the contest altogether. The 26-year-old left-hander bounced back from a dreadful outing last Saturday against the Orioles when he allowed seven runs in just 1 2/3 innings. A run-scoring single by Ernie Clement in the fourth inning accounted for the only damage against him in this one..       McKenzie did not factor into the decision Thursday against Boston, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: McKenzie had to deal with traffic throughout Thursday's outing, though he was ultimately able to mitigate the damage thanks to a season-high seven strikeouts. He'd fail to qualify for a win, however, only making it through four innings after throwing 75 pitches, as Cleveland continues to monitor the 26-year-old's workload after he made just four starts in an injury-plagued 2023 campaign. Overall, McKenzie is 2-2 with a 4.91 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 18:17 K:BB through four starts (22 innings) this season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:47 pm
       
    • McKenzie has mini bounceback vs Red Sox
      Triston McKenzie allowed two runs on six hits in four innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Thursday.

      Advice: Six hits in four innings isn’t great, but McKenzie did strike out seven batters and walk just two. However, McKenzie’s fastball still averaged just 91 mph which is not what we want to see. He was able to get whiffs on it against a depleted Red Sox lineup that was without Triston Casas, Tyler O’Neill, and Masataka Yoshida, but it’s hard to feel overly confident since McKenzie was not able to find the strike zone with his curve on Thursday either. His ERA now sits at 4.91 on the season, and he’s not a recommended start next week in Houston. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:30 pm
       
    • Peralta has first poor start of the season
      Freddy Peralta allowed five runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Pirates.

      Advice: It all came down to command for Peralta, who walked five and struck out five on the day. Peralta, who has been electric all season, had just a 40 percent zone rate on the day and an 18 percent chase rate, so he wasn’t able to pound the strike zone and didn’t make the Pirates chase pitches out of the strike zone. His fastball, which had taken a massive step forward in 2024, had just a 40 percent zone rate on its own. Without that, Peralta was never able to get into a rhythm. We’ve seen his fastball command fail him at times, but this is the first time in 2024, so hopefully it’s not the beginning of a poor stretch of command. Peralta gets a tough test against the Rays next week, but should still be started in all leagues. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:07 pm

      Rodriguez (3-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Angels after allowing seven runs on 11 hits and a walk while striking out seven over 4.1 innings.

      Advice: Rodriguez allowed a career-high 11 hits and nearly matched his career high with seven runs allowed. While the 4.1 innings pitched was a season low, he still was able to rack up seven strikeouts, which were his most since April 5. The Angels scored at least a run in each of the first four innings and 10 of the 14 balls put in play against Rodriguez were hard hit. The 24-year-old now sits at a 4.45 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 34:9 K:BB in 28.1 innings and will look to get back on track in a divisional showdown with the Yankees. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:06 am
       
    • Grayson Rodriguez roughed up by Angels in defeat
      Grayson Rodriguez was pummeled for seven runs and 11 hits in 4 1/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Angels.

      Advice: Rodriguez blamed the poor showing on leaving too many pitches down the middle of the plate. He got 14 missed swings and seven strikeouts, but 10 of the 14 balls in play against him were hard hit. It’s his first loss of the year, leaving him 3-1 with a 4.45 ERA. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:42 pm
