    • Fernando Tatis Jr. goes deep as Padres top Dodgers
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 1-for-3 and blasted a mammoth solo home run on Sunday as the Padres shut out the Dodgers 4-0 in San Diego.

Advice: The 25-year-old superstar opened the scoring in the contest with a mammoth 442-foot (109.2 mph EV) solo shot off of Walker Buehler in the home half of the first inning. He was also plunked by Ryan Yarbrough later in the ballgame. While he’s not completely lighting the world on fire, Tatis has still been very productive from a fantasy perspective this season — slashing .257/.335/.449 with eight homers, 22 RBI and six stolen bases (in seven attempts). • Struggles in 2024 debut
Garrett pitched 5.1 innings, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight batters in Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Phillies. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Garrett got off to a slow start in his season debut, giving up three runs in the top of the first inning on a homer by Nick Castellanos. He then tossed four scoreless frames before two more runs came around to score while he secured just one out in the top of the sixth frame. The left-hander did impress in the strikeouts department though, punching out at least eight batters for the first time since June 22 of the 2023 campaign versus the Pirates. Garrett will look to produce a more well-rounded performance in his next start, which is tentatively set for Saturday at home versus the Mets. Rotowire.com Today, 3:53 pm
    • Jazz Chisholm picks up two hits in win over Phillies
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and an RBI in a win over the Phillies.

Advice: Jazz laces a 102 mph double off of Zack Wheeler in the third inning that got a three-run inning started and later tripled off Wheeler in the fourth inning to drive in a run. The Marlins’ leadoff hitter had hits in every game but one this week, going 8-for-23 with a home run, a steal, and two RBI. He also only scored three runs all week despite those stats, so the Marlins’ inconsistent offense is going to impact his fantasy value a bit going forward. Rotoworld Today, 2:15 pm

    • Braxton Garrett inconsistent in no decision on SUN
Braxton Garrett allowed five runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies on Sunday.

Advice: Garrett allowed five hits but six hard-hit baseballs and an average exit velocity of 91.2 mph on the day. He was able to post a 22 percent whiff rate and eight strikeouts on the day, but weirdly was getting most of his swings and misses and called strikes on his sinker. Most of his other pitches were not as effective and he threw the sinker and slider a combined 80 percent of the time. He averaged just 89.7 mph on the sinker today and has an 8.44 ERA since coming off the IL. He’s a risky stream against the Mets next weekend given his subpar stuff this year. Rotoworld Today, 2:08 pm
    • Swats homer in loss
De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and was hit by a pitch in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Giants.

Advice: De La Cruz launched his ninth home run in the fourth inning for the Reds' lone run. He entered Saturday with multiple steals in three straight games. The dynamic infielder has hit safely in three straight and is batting .272 with a .910 OPS over 158 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:05 am

    • Ryan McMahon powers Rockies to win over Rangers
Ryan McMahon went 4-for-5 with an RBI on Saturday, leading the Rockies to an 8-3 win over the Rangers.

Advice: McMahon served as Colorado’s primary offensive catalyst in this one, kicking off a six-run outburst in the seventh inning with an RBI single off Rangers reliever David Robertson. The 29-year-old corner infielder has been a steady, yet unspectacular, fantasy contributor for a couple seasons now. He’s off to a really nice start this year, batting .303/.391/.462 with 16 runs scored, five homers and 21 RBI through 170 plate appearances in 39 games. Rotoworld Today, 3:54 am

    • Launches homer in win
Henderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Henderson regained a share of the major-league lead with his 12th homer of the campaign, putting him in a tie with Atlanta's Marcell Ozuna and Houston's Kyle Tucker. While he's hit two homers over the last three games, Henderson has just three multi-hit efforts in May, a month that's seen him go 8-for-34 (.235) over nine contests. It's little to be concerned about considering how well he's played overall -- he has a .278/.355/.583 slash line with 27 RBI, 30 runs scored and six stolen bases over 38 games. • Can't keep ball in park Saturday
Steele escaped with a no-decision in Saturday's 10-9 loss to the Pirates, surrendering six runs on six hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Making just his third start of the season after missing all of April with a hamstring strain, Steele served up homers to Connor Joe and Oneil Cruz in the third inning and Michael Taylor in the fourth, but he got taken off the hook for the loss thanks to a seven-run fifth by the Cubs. Steele has yet to complete five innings in an outing and threw just 74 pitches (53 strikes) Saturday, but he should begin to get stretched out more as he puts the injury further behind him. Steele will take a 4.73 ERA and 11:4 K:BB through 13.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to be a rematch with the Pirates back in Wrigley Field next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:19 pm
    • Breaks out with four hits
McMahon went 4-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.

Advice: McMahon entered Saturday just 2-for-21 (.095) over his last six contests. The only downside to his performance in this contest was that all four hits were singles. The third baseman is up to a .303/.391/.462 slash line with five home runs, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and no stolen bases over 39 contests this season. He's never hit higher than .254 or slugged better than .450 in a full season, so the first quarter of the 2024 campaign has essentially been McMahon at his absolute best, which consequently raises a red flag for regression later in the year.
