      Cole Ragans yielded two earned runs on two hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Monday.

      Advice: It was another stellar outing from Ragans, who now has allowed just four earned runs in his past three starts. The only damage against him came off a Gary Sanchez two-run home run. The 26-year-old southpaw has recorded at least eight punch outs in back-to-back games.       Advice: The lone blemish on Ragans' line Monday was a two-run shot by Gary Sanchez in the fourth inning. After the long ball, Ragans retired the final seven batters he faced, with three coming via strikeout. He matched his season high by forcing 19 whiffs, with nine coming against his changeup. Since getting hammered for seven runs against the Orioles, Ragans has posted a strong 2.04 ERA and 21:8 K:BB over his last three starts.       Triston McKenzie allowed one earned run and stuck out six in five innings against the Tigers on Monday.

      Advice: McKenzie allowed a home run to Riley Greene on the first pitch of the game and after that, the 26-year-old shut down the Tigers’ offense. McKenzie has at least six strikeouts in four straight games and has gotten his season ERA under four for the first time this season (3.97 ERA).     • Drops appeal, serving five-game ban
      Peralta dropped his appeal of a five-game suspension and will be begin serving the ban Monday.

      Advice: Peralta was handed the suspension for intentionally throwing at the Rays' Jose Siri in an 8-2 win over Tampa Bay last Tuesday. The right-hander was ejected from that contest, but after appealing the five-game ban, Peralta took the hill Sunday on normal rest and was dealt the loss in the Brewers' series finale with the Cubs. With Peralta ending his appeal, he won't be able to make his next turn through the rotation that would have fallen Friday versus the Cardinals, though he could make his next start as soon as Saturday.       Advice: Ragans experienced cramping in his left calf in his most recent start this past Tuesday against the Blue Jays, but he had already tossed 6.2 innings (105 pitches) and likely wouldn't have stayed in the game any longer even if he wasn't experiencing any discomfort. The Royals didn't suggest that Ragans required any follow-up testing, so he's not expected to face any restrictions as he takes the hill Monday for his eighth start of the season. He took his first loss of the year and has now failed to complete six frames in three straight outings. During that stretch, he's posted a 6.00 ERA with a 17:11 K:BB. Peralta forced 13 whiffs Sunday but threw just 51 of 97 pitches for strikes. His season ERA climbed to 3.49 through 38.2 frames.     • Freddy Peralta walks six in loss to Cubs on Sunday
      Freddy Peralta struggled with his command in Sunday’s loss to the Cubs, issuing six walks over five innings of three-run baseball.

      Advice: Peralta also surrendered three hits on the afternoon while punching out five batters. Even with all of the traffic on the basepaths, the 27-year-old right-hander kept the Cubs off the board through the first four innings. That wasn’t the case in the fifth though, where Nico Hoerner smacked a two-run double and then scored on a wild pitch. Peralta generated 13 swinging strikes on 97 pitches in the contest, posting a CSW of 25 percent.       Advice: Rodriguez landed on the injured list with shoulder inflammation following his April 29 start against the Yankees, and he ended up being shut down from throwing for only a few days. The right-hander could soon ramp up to bullpen sessions, and it remains to be seen if he'll require a minor-league rehab assignment before rejoining Baltimore's rotation.       Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Sunday that the team is hopeful that Evan Phillips (hamstring) will only have a minimum stay on the injured list.

      Advice: Phillips was diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain and placed on the injured list before Sunday’s game against Atlanta. The right-hander will miss at least two weeks, but it doesn’t sound like a (relatively) long-term injury for the 29-year-old closer.
