    • Getting Wednesday off
Marte is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Marte had started each of the Mets' first seven games of May, going 6-for-30 (.200 average) with one extra-base hit (a double) and one stolen base. His absence Wednesday looks to be little more than a maintenance day as the Mets and Cardinals wrap up their series with a day game after a night game. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:14 am

    • Receiving breather Wednesday
McNeil is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: McNeil is likely just sitting out as part of a planned rest day, as he had started each of the Mets' last 30 games dating back to April 5. Joey Wendle will fill in for McNeil at the keystone. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:12 am

    • Sitting Wednesday amid slump
Hayes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Hayes will get a breather for the series finale after he had started in each of the Pirates' last 11 games. The 27-year-old went 8-for-42 over that stretch, bringing his batting average down to a career-worst .240 for the season. Jared Triolo will fill in for Hayes at the hot corner Wednesday. • Earns fifth consecutive start
Joe will start in right field and bat cleanup in Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Joe will be included in the lineup for the fifth game in a row, with the 31-year-old having made three starts at first base and two in right field. He should be a mainstay in the lineup against southpaws as a short-side platoon mate at first base for the lefty-hitting Rowdy Tellez, and Joe has made a strong case to see steady playing time against right-handed pitching as a corner outfielder. Joe enters Wednesday's contest with a team-best 131 wRC+ on the season, while Michael Taylor owns a 53 wRC+ and would seemingly be most at risk of moving out of a near-everyday role, despite being the Pirates' best defensive outfielder. • Mashes grand slam in win
Muncy went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and two runs scored in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Muncy quickly put the Dodgers ahead with a first-inning grand slam off of Edward Cabrera. It was his sixth career grand slam and fourth home run in his last three games, as he now has eight RBI over that span. Muncy is currently hitting .263, which is well above his career average, and overall is slashing .263/.370/.570 with nine homers, 26 RBI, 22 runs and a 19:40 BB:K in 138 plate appearances. • Approaching rehab assignment
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Miller (shoulder) is coming up on a minor-league rehab assignment "pretty quickly," Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Miller threw a bullpen session Monday, his second since being placed on the injured list with inflammation in his right shoulder April 13. Roberts noted that the right-hander's velocity was "good" in the session and sounded optimistic about Miller's progress in his recovery from the injury. The second-year hurler will make at least one minor-league rehab start, though it's still unclear how many more bullpens he'll throw before he reaches that point. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:18 pm

    • Settles in after shaky start
Lugo didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Milwaukee, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Lugo gave up a hit and a walk in the first frame, then surrendered back-to-back homers to start the second. After that, however, Lugo retired nine straight batters and kept the Brewers off the scoreboard until the seventh inning. He was seemingly set up for his sixth win of the season with the Royals up 5-3 heading into the ninth, but Willy Adames took Lugo out of contention for the W with a go-ahead three-run home run. Lugo has pitched at least six innings in seven of his eight starts, and he's gone into the seventh five times. He's scheduled to make his next start Sunday against the Angels. • Max Muncy delivers grand slam in Dodgers’ win
Max Muncy went 2-for-4 and hit a grand slam Tuesday against the Marlins.

Advice: It was his sixth career slam and fourth homer in three games. A career .228 hitter, Munch is at .263 right now, even though his strikeout rate is higher than usual and his exit velocity numbers are pretty typical. He’ll surely continue to put up excellent power numbers, but one should probably expect an average around .220 the rest of the way. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:56 pm

    • Seth Lugo turns in quality start in no-decision
Seth Lugo yielded three runs in 6 2/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Brewers.

Advice: Lugo got just five missed swings tonight, but he wound up with five strikeouts anyway. Back-to-back homers from Rhys Hoskins and Joey Ortiz in the second inning accounted for most of the damage. Lugo will get the Angels on the road next time out. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:48 pm
