      Freeman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Marlins in Monday's 6-3 win.

      Advice: Though his long ball didn't travel nearly as far, Freeman followed Shohei Ohtani in the first inning Monday as the pair slugged back-to-back homers. Freeman has yet to fully flex his power this season -- he has just three homers through 167 plate appearances -- but he's been otherwise productive, as usual, with a .292/.407/.445 slash line, 21 RBI, 18 runs and a stolen base.     • Mixed results in season debut
      Buehler allowed three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out four batters over four innings in a no-decision against Miami on Monday.

      Advice: Buehler had a favorable matchup in his first major-league start since mid-June of 2022, as he squared off against the team with the third-worst record in baseball. That didn't seem to matter early, though, as the Marlins jumped on the right-hander for a pair of first-inning runs on a trio of singles. However, Buehler's fastball velocity averaged a solid 96.6 mph in the frame, per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, which foreshadowed him settling down to allow just one more run over the remainder of his outing. Not surprisingly, the 29-year-old wasn't pushed too hard in his return to the majors, as he was pulled after 77 pitches and four frames rather than being allowed to complete the fifth and qualify for the win. Assuming Buehler comes out of the start without any setbacks, Monday's outing will likely serve as a foundation on which he can build up to a higher pitch count moving forward.     • Freddie Freeman homers as Dodgers top Marlins
      Freddie Freeman hit a solo homer in a victory Monday over the Marlins.

      Advice: Freeman went back-to-back with Shohei Ohtani, and his solo blast gave the Dodgers a 3-2 lead. The 34-year-old hasn’t shown a ton of pop in the early portion of the year, as it’s just the third homer for the veteran first baseman in 2024. He’s hitting .292 with a .407 on-base percentage, however, and all of those numbers are sure to climb as we get deeper into the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:30 pm
       
    • Walker Buehler goes four innings in season debut
      Walker Buehler allowed three runs over four innings in a start Monday against the Marlins.

      Advice: He allowed six hits with no walks, and he struck out four. Buehler didn’t get deep enough to qualify for the win, as he threw 77 pitches in his first start since June of 2022. The right-hander gave up a pair of run-scoring singles in the first and a homer to Nick Gordon in the second, but Buehler settled down nicely over the final two innings, and showed flashes of the ace hurler he was prior to Tommy John surgery.     • Maikel Garcia drives in two in win against MIL
      Maikel Garcia went 1-for-2 with a two-run RBI single to help lift the Royals to a 3-2 win versus the Brewers on Monday.

      Advice: It wasn’t pretty, but it got the job done. Garcia got great contact on a sinker off Elvis Peguero in the sixth inning that got in between shortstop and second base. According to Statcast, the hit probability was just 41%, but with an exit velocity of 106.5 MPH, Garcia definitely earned the hit.       Buehler (elbow) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of Monday's start against the Marlins.

      Advice: As expected, Buehler will toe the rubber Monday evening in his first MLB action since undergoing Tommy John surgery in August 2022. He cruised through five innings April 30 during his final rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City, surrendering one run while fanning five batters, but even so, expect the club to keep a close eye on the right-hander's pitch count in the series opener.       Nick Castellanos doubled, singled and walked twice versus the Giants on Monday.

      Advice: Each time it looks like Castellanos might be turning the corner, he’s gone right back to slumping the next day. Still, this rates as his best game so far this season. The double was hit 389 feet and would have been a homer in nine ballparks. Incredibly, it was the first two-bagger of the year for a guy who once had 58 of them. He finished with 37 last season.       Matt Chapman finished 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Monday against the Phillies.

      Advice: Chapman is down to .209/.257/.345 on the season. His exit velocity numbers aren’t as good as usual, and he’s hitting more groundballs than he typically does. He’s also walking at half of his usual rate, though that doesn’t much matter for fantasy purposes.       Dodgers activated RHP Waker Buehler off the 15-day injured list.

      Advice: Buehler will get a chance to make his first start in 20 months after recovering from Tommy John surgery. The right-hander was up to 75 pitches in rehab starts, and he should be able to work the necessary five innings to qualify for a potential win.
