• Wins third straight
Ober (3-1) earned the win Wednesday over the White Sox, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out three over six innings.

Advice: After allowing two runs in the opening frame, Ober settled in to hold Chicago to just two more runs over his final five innings en route to a third consecutive winning decision. The four runs were the most Ober's allowed since he was tagged for eight runs in his first start of the year against Kansas City -- he'd held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his subsequent four outings. Overall, the 28-year-old right-hander sports a 4.55 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP and 28:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings this season. Ober's currently slated for a home matchup with the Mariners in his next turn. • Astros consider IL stint for McCormick (hamstring)
Astros’ manager Joe Espada admitted Wednesday that they’re considering a stint on the injured list for Chas McCormick (hamstring).

Advice: McCormick is available to pinch-hit on Wednesday, but it sounds like if he doesn’t improve very soon that he’ll wind up on the shelf for a while. Trey Cabbage was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday to add depth to their outfield. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

  • Tyler Nevin belts solo homer to sink Pirates
Tyler Nevin went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Wednesday, propelling the Athletics to a 4-0 victory over the Pirates.

Advice: Nevin has homered four times in his last seven games and continues to quietly emerge as a impact contributor for the Athletics. The 26-year-old first baseman is batting .325 (26-for-80) with four homers, 10 RBI and one steal in 25 games in his Oakland debut. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

  • Edward Olivares continues ice-cold stretch in loss
Edward Olivares went 0-for-4 on Wednesday in the Pirates’ shutout loss at the hands of the Athletics.

Advice: Unfortunatley, Olivares has come crashing back to Earth after a sizzling-hot start to the season at the plate, batting just .132 (5-for-38) with zero extra-base hits in 12 games over the last three weeks. It’s not what you want. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

  • Mason Miller silences Pirates in non-save spot
Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday in a non-save situation against the Pirates.

Advice: Miller got the call to protect a four-run lead in the final frame after needing 16 pitches to close out Tuesday’s victory less than 24 hours ago. He got Jack Suwinski to ground out and fanned Henry Davis before coaxing a game-ending ground out from Ke’Bryan Hayes. He averaged 100.8 mph on his fastball and needed just 10 pitches to spin a perfect frame. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty has reeled off 12 consecutive scoreless appearances since April 2, and has converted eight saves to go along with a microscopic 1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 29/4 K/BB ratio across 14 1/3 innings of work. Simply put, he’s one of the best relievers in baseball already. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

  • Ross Stripling spins six shutout frames vs. Pirates
Ross Stripling fired six shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Pirates.

Advice: Stripling certainly wasn’t overpowering, mustering only a pair of strikeouts, but he managed to keep Pittsburgh’s lineup off balance with his five-pitch mix. He also consistently filled up the zone, throwing 58 of 79 pitches for strikes, and didn’t hand out a free pass in one of his better outings of the year. He’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in four consecutive starts since April 15, but the lack of strikeouts limits his streaming appeal almost exclusively to deeper mixed leagues. He’ll take a serviceable 4.24 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 27/8 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a challenging home matchup on Tuesday against the Rangers. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

  • Bailey Ober gives up four runs, wins anyway
Bailey Ober won despite allowing four runs in six innings Wednesday against the White Sox.

Advice: It’s Ober’s worst start since he gave up eight runs on March 31, but still not too shabby. He’s sporting a 3-1 record, a 4.55 ERA and an excellent 1.04 WHIP. Next up is a home start versus the Mariners. Rotoworld Today, 2:27 pm

  • Tommy Pham homers in loss to Twins
Tommy Pham homered and doubled in the loss to the Twins on Wednesday.

Advice: Pham is 9-for-24 with just two strikeouts in six games since joining the White Sox. He’s going to have to hit better than usual and keep running like he did last season in order to be of use in mixed leagues while playing for such an awful team. We’re not optimistic, but he’s certainly off to a great start. Rotoworld Today, 2:26 pm

  • IL stint possible
McCormick's hamstring is still bothering him Wednesday, and the Astros are considering placing him on the injured list, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: No official move has been made just yet, but manager Joe Espada said there have been conversations about whether or not to put the 29-year-old on the shelf. McCormick will not start Wednesday's game against the Guardians but is available to hit, per Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, despite still having issues with his hamstring. Joey Loperfido will instead get the nod in left field and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 2:15 pm
