    • Belts fourth homer
Chisholm went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 7-2 loss to the Nationals.

Advice: He spoiled Jake Irvin's attempt at a shutout by launching a fastball over the fence in center field in the sixth inning. Chisholm has gone yard in back-to-back games on the heels of a 17-game homer drought, and the 26-year-old could be catching fire. On the season, he's slashing .245/.339/.406 with four homers, five steals, 13 runs and 17 RBI in 29 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:40 pm
    • Jazz Chisolm Jr. provides only runs in loss to Nats
Jazz Chisolm Jr. went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in a loss to the Nationals on Monday.

Advice: Déjà vu. Jazz has homered in back-to-back games. The 26-year-old got Miami on the board in the sixth inning when he took Jake Irvin’s fastball 414 feet to deep center field. Chisolm got off to a slow start this season, where he saw his batting average as low as .130 seven games into the season. However, he’s been able to create contact and get on base bringing his batting line to .248/.342/.410 with four homers and 17 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:06 pm
    • Scratched with back tightness
Perez was scratched from Monday's lineup versus the Blue Jays due to back tightness, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Perez had been slated to catch and bat cleanup, but now Freddy Fermin will be behind the plate and Nelson Velazquez will move up to the cleanup spot. Consider Perez day-to-day. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:32 pm

    • Royals scratch Salvador Perez with back tightness
Salvador Perez was scratched from Monday’s lineup due to back tightness.

Advice: Perez has been off to an excellent start while leading baseball with 26 RBI and posting an OPS of .990, but he’ll miss at least one game while dealing with the back issue. He should be considered day-to-day at this point, but testing on the 33-year-old is likely. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:28 pm

    • MRI reveals left flexor muscle strain for Luzardo
An MRI revealed that Jesús Luzardo is dealing with a left flexor muscle strain.

Advice: Luzardo has been placed on the injured list due to left elbow tightness, but now there’s more specifics. The left-hander was able to play catch Monday,a and that along with no structural damage is good news. Assuming no setbacks, there’s a chance Luzardo will only miss a couple starts before returning in May. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:27 pm

    • Craig Kimbrel day-to-day with back tightness
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters Monday that Craig Kimbrel is day-to-day with back tightness.

Advice: Kimbrel left Sunday’s appearance against the Athletics with tightness in his back, and he’s considered day-to-day at this point. The 35-year-old may not appear for a day or two, but for now, it doesn’t appear this is a long-term injury. Yennier Cano will likely get the save chances for the Orioles while Kimbrel is away. • Day-to-day with back tightness
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Monday that Kimbrel (back) is considered day-to-day, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Kimbrel failed to record an out and was charged with two earned runs and his second consecutive blown save in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Athletics before being lifted from the contest due to upper-back tightness. The team is hopeful that Kimbrel can avoid a stint on the 15-day injured list, but he presumably won't be available Monday against the Yankees, and potentially a few more days beyond that. Yennier Cano is the favorite to close for the Orioles while Kimbrel recovers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:08 pm

    • Diagnosed with mild flexor strain
Luzardo was diagnosed Monday with a mild flexor strain in his left elbow, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The diagnosis is relatively good news, especially considering that Luzardo was able to play catch Monday, three days after tightness in his pitching arm forced him to the injured list. Luzardo is without a timeline at this stage to return from the IL, but more clarity on that front could come once he advances to the point in his recovery program where he's able to face hitters. • Bo Bichette gets a day off on Monday
Bo Bichette is not in the lineup on Monday against the Royals

Advice: It’s been a tough start to the year for Bichette, who is slashing just .210/.263/.305 with one home run and three steals. Bichette continues to make a solid amount of contact, but he also continues to chase pitches outside of the zone at a high rate. Even though he makes contact on those pitches, and has a lower swinging strike rate than last year, he’s now hitting the ball on the ground over 52 percent of the time and has just a 2.3 percent barrel rate. His approach may need to change in order for him to get back to his high batting average. Isiah Kiner-Falefa is starting at shortstop and betting eighth in his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:14 pm
