    • Moves up order against lefty
Carroll batted second and went 1-for-4 with a double in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Carroll had been dropped to the lower third of the order against left-handers a couple of weeks ago, but he was moved back to the top third Wednesday. A 12-game stretch during which he batted .340/.446/.511 may have influenced manager Torey Lovullo's decision to get Carroll's higher in the order. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago
    • Homers, drives in four in loss
Stanton went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in a 7-6 loss to the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: Stanton did his best to provide some late-game heroics, crushing a three-run homer in the seventh inning and tying the game on an RBI single in the ninth. Stanton extended his hitting streak to seven games and is now hitting .300 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 60 June at-bats. He is enjoying a nice bounceback season and owns a .243/.301/.494 slash with 18 home runs and 45 RBI over 272 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:25 pm
    • Brenton Doyle brings home winning run vs. Dodgers
Brenton Doyle went 0-for-3 with two RBI against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Doyle went hitless on Wednesday, but still had two of the Rockies’ biggest at-bats. He brought in the tying run in the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly. With the game still tied in the bottom of the ninth, he brought the winning run in to score with his second sacrifice fly. The 26-year-old outfielder is hitting a solid .271/.337/.402 with six homers, 43 runs scored, 23 RBI, and 18 steals across 283 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:24 pm
    • Giancarlo Stanton carries Yankees against Orioles
Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 with a home run, walk, and four RBI against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: Stanton single-handedly brought the Yankees back in this one. First, his three-run home run off Yennier Cano cut the Orioles’ lead to 5-4 and then his ninth inning single off Craig Kimbrel sent this game to extra innings. The homer was his 18th in what’s been a tremendous bounce back season for the aging power hitter. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:14 pm
    • Sitting versus lefty
Pederson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Nationals.

Advice: Pederson's only start against a lefty this season came earlier this month versus a left-handed opener in the Giants' Erik Miller. With the Nationals sending southpaw Patrick Corbin to the bump Wednesday, Pederson will take a seat while Eugenio Suarez serves as Arizona's designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:53 am
    • Swipes eighth bag
Varsho went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Getting the start in center field and hitting cleanup, Varsho pilfered his third bag in the last 10 games and his eighth of the season in nine attempts. The 27-year-old sports a lopsided .216/.296/.446 slash line on the season with 11 homers, 35 RBI and 40 runs in 69 contests, but his .742 OPS still provides a significant improvement on the Blue Jays' other option in center field, Kevin Kiermaier (.545 OPS). • Three hits in Tuesday's win
Pederson went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Nationals.

Advice: All three knocks were singles, but it was still another busy night on the basepaths for Pederson, who also got hit by a pitch. The veteran slugger is batting .375 (12-for-32) over the last 10 games with two doubles, two homers, two steals, eight runs and 12 RBI as he takes advantage of a long stretch of right-handers being sent to the mound against the Diamondbacks. With Patrick Corbin and MacKenzie Gore set to start for Washington in the final two games of the series, however, Pederson figures to head to the bench despite his current form. • Active in return
Carroll went 2-for-3 with two walks, a triple, a stolen base and a caught stealing in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Carroll was removed from Sunday's game with discomfort in his left side, but he was ready to go Tuesday after an MRI came back clean. He led off the game with a walk, stole second base, then trotted in on Ketel Marte's home run. Carroll later tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly. The 2023 NL Rookie of the Year's season-opening slump has started to lift; he's 16-for-47 (.340) with four doubles, two triples, nine walks, four steals and 16 runs scored over the last 12 games. • Homers in four-hit effort
Doyle went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 11-9 loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: The homer was Doyle's first since May 15, and it was also his first extra-base hit since June 3. While he hasn't hit for much power, the outfielder has been sharp at the plate and adds speed on the bases. He's up to a .274/.342/.407 slash line with six homers, 21 RBI, 43 runs scored, 18 stolen bases, 11 doubles and two triples through 69 contests. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:39 pm
